THE RISE OF GLORIOUS WATCHMEN: NO SPACE FOR NEGATIVITY [PART 2]

The evening opened with a prayer of hunger: "Lord, I am tired of the ordinary... I want to rise a glorious watchman from this service." The wind of God was called on in the order of Ezekiel 37 to turn dry bones into an army, and Gideon's "mighty man of valour" was prayed over the congregation. Praise followed ("I'll tell the world you are good", "What no man can do", "Dependable God", "We lay our crowns").

The fire prayer was built on Joshua 21:45: not one good promise of the Lord failed. Each worshipper stood as the watchman of their own house (Ezekiel 33:7) and "swept out" of father's house, mother's house and business everything that is not the promise: sickness, limitation, marital delay, rising and falling. The prayers moved on to "I shut the door" against wickedness, "I open the gate" for good news, favour and lifting, "My family shall not be the playground of demonic activities", Elijah's "let none escape", and "I shall not come down from my post... I must see what I heard". The cry of the night was "Not on my watch": delay, sickness, evil arrows, obituary, cancer, obscurity, not on my watch.

The message read Matthew 26:36-45 (Gethsemane). The last three months of the year were called "the months of the watchmen". The day you gave your life to Christ, God handed you the destiny of your family, your office and your children. A watchman sees the devil behind the serpent, the Philistines behind Delilah, Jezebel behind Ahab, and he builds on divine revelation, not earthly information. Jesus had a burden the three disciples did not have, which is why he was awake while they slept. Burden is not worry: it is knowing God's heartbeat for your territory before it is manifest, and every new season is unlocked with one. Seven signs of a burden followed, then the watchman's heartbeat, "Not my will but thy will be done": the kingdom comes through the will, and the will of God is not punishment but "the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom".

"Could ye not watch with me one hour?" made one hour the minimum watch time. Jesus spoke to Peter because Peter carried the prophecy. Watching and praying feeds the spirit, prayerlessness feeds the flesh. The "temptation" ahead was Herod, who would kill James and come for Peter, so watchmen pray now about what has not happened yet. Jesus prayed three times "saying the same words": Samuel came not because Hannah prayed, but because Hannah was praying. The close was a set of mistakes watchmen should never make, ending on the danger of Jesus' "Sleep on now": the moment heaven stops striving with a person.

There were words of knowledge on unconsciousness, enlarged organs and tuberculosis of the brain, a declaration that families would hear good news in October, and a prayer breaking "powers that cause negativity to be repeated". The service closed with offering, announcements, Psalm 91 and "I come in the volume of the book... to do your will, O God".

• Devotional books and MP3s of messages are at the emporium; partnership forms at the inquiry desk outside the auditorium.

Seven signs you carry a burden (as listed)

1. You always see what others don't see.
2. You are not easily discouraged out of your assignment.
3. You have a clear revelation of what God wants you to do.
4. You understand how tough it is, yet you can't give up.
5. You are more passionate about the new than interested in the old.
6. You understand that you are responsible, so even if no one shows up, you show up (also called "number five" in the captions).
7. You pray even when there is no reason to pray, at awkward moments.

Mistakes watchmen should never make

He announced five and the captions carry three before the close:

1. Don't be friends with sleepers: all three disciples slept and none woke the others. Check your circle.
2. Don't live below your mandate: you were separated for a purpose.
3. Every instruction God gives meets a confrontation of disobedience: "watch" was the one word given, and sleep came against that very word.

The message then turned to "sleep on now" as the dangerous level where heaven lets you do what you want.

Words of knowledge / healing declarations

• Something that makes a person fall asleep and lose consciousness, where people strike them many times before they wake ("I don't know what the doctors call it"; possibly seizures or fainting spells): reversed.
• Every enlarged kidney, enlarged liver, enlarged heart: reversed.
• Tuberculosis of the brain: reversed.
• "It's been a long while your family heard good news. They will hear one this month, in October."
• Mountains commanded to melt.

1. The call of God is not only to be saved and receive good things; it makes you a watchman. The day you gave your life to Christ, the Lord handed you the destiny of your family, your office and the children from your loins.
2. A watchman looks past the surface: behind the serpent is the devil, behind Delilah are the Philistines, behind Ahab is Jezebel. Until you become a watchman you may be praying the wrong prayers, and sensitive information from the throne is given to watchmen, not every believer.
3. The watchman is not one by title. He builds on divine revelation, is fully armed, sees things before they happen, understands times and seasons, and makes sure nothing God put in his hand suffers loss.
4. There is no watching without a burden, and burden is not worry. It is knowing what God has said about your life, family and business while seeing it not yet manifest. When God is about to open a new season, the first thing he gives is a burden.
5. The watchman's heartbeat is "not my will, but thy will be done". The kingdom is established through the Father's will, and his will is his good pleasure to give you the kingdom, not punishment. Jesus came into prayer saying "Lord, I don't want this" and left saying "whatever you want is fine by me": prayer is about who you become, not only what you get.
6. Sometimes God removes the person or relationship you asked for, because it would sabotage your destiny; your tongues chased them away.
7. One hour is the minimum watch time, not an achievement. Jesus spoke to Peter because Peter carried the prophecy; the reason you cannot fit in with the old crowd is the word over your life.
8. Prayer strengthens the spirit and prayerlessness strengthens the flesh. Every attempt to be prayerless is an invitation to evil. Watchmen pray about the future before it arrives: the Herod who killed James was coming, and "we are not waiting for you to have cancer before you start praying about it".
9. Persistence breaks through: Jesus prayed the same words three times, and Samuel came because Hannah was praying, not because she prayed once.
10. The most dangerous level is when heaven says "sleep on now": the Lord stops striving and lets you do as you please. The disciples thought they were praying for Jesus, but the instruction was for their own sake.

Today / this season

• Stand as the watchman of your family, business and career, and declare "not on my watch" over sickness, delay, stagnation, obituary and obscurity.
• Pray at least one hour: "the minimum watch time is one hour".
• Keep praying the same prayer until your spirit breaks through; don't stop because others think you pray too much.
• Pray now about the future, and clear anything in it that is not of God.
• Check your relationship circle: don't be friends with sleepers.
• Tell your neighbour "you are a watchman", "wake up", and "watch and pray"; walk up to 14 people and say "watch and pray" into their ear.
• Declare Psalm 91:1-2 over yourself.
• Give offering, tithe and partnership; support the church building project.
• Join the special prayers for men on the Pastor Jerry prayer WhatsApp platform.

Tomorrow / upcoming

• Friday 10 October: come to the NSPPD grand finale with your mantle (glory and impartation Friday). "As you show up on the altar tomorrow, you will be the first person the Lord will visit."
• Fast through the weekend as a church, 6 to 1, and write down five areas where you want God to show up before Sunday's "When God Shows Up" service.
