OH LORD SHOW ME MERCY

OH LORD SHOW ME MERCY || NSPPD || 6TH AUGUST 2025

It is nothing for God to help: cry for mercy, hold your settlement note for tomorrow, and declare "My Arroi has shown me great mercy."

Summary

The first Wednesday of August was the monthly "Oh Lord, show me mercy" service. It opened in worship and tongues, then moved straight into a long chain of mercy cries built from the Psalms: "I come boldly to the throne of grace", "Hear my cry, attend to my prayer; when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I", "Satisfy me early with your mercy", and "Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul; let me not be ashamed." Pastor Jerry prayed over those in hospital and ICU, those with terminal disease, those at the end of their road asking "when will this end?", and those cut down who will sprout again "at the scent of water."

The teaching thread was help and mercy. From Psalm 3 he named the voices that say "there is no help for you in God" and answered them with the Lord as shield, glory and lifter of the head. From Asa's prayer he declared that it is nothing for God to help, "doctor or no doctor, helper or no help, structure or no structure, you can do it." From Revelation 3 he spoke to those with "little strength" who have kept His word and not denied His name: the Lord sets before them an open door. From Luke 4 he prayed for every broken heart, broken by allegations, lies, family trouble, marriage, or the weight of the assignment. The day's cry, in his words: "Use my life to demonstrate that you can show a man great mercy."

A dense round of words of knowledge followed (glycogen storage disease, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, MALT lymphoma, pancreatic insufficiency, pleural effusion, myasthenia gravis, melanoma and more), each answered "by the mercies of God, let it be reversed." Pastor K then declared mercy over the congregation: whatever the Father did not plant is rooted out, every pain and shame swept away, a new season, elevation and change of story, with evidence to appear within seven days. The seed of thanksgiving was named "instant mercy intervention", and the congregation declared "My Arroi has shown me great mercy."

Testimonies covered three marital settlements (one met her husband through the UK conference and was proposed to on Pastor Jerry's birthday), a husband returning home after four to five years, a mother kidnapped in Edo State with her baby and released unharmed after four days, and a consultant family physician whose cancer showed no residual disease or spread on PET scan. Pastor Jerry and the hosts drew from them that "there is no death sentence in Christ" and that we pray not only because of problems but to redeem the time.

The service closed with three communions, three birthday prophetic blessings, the Psalm 91 confession, and Pastor Jerry recounting two fresh wonders: a mother confirmed clinically dead who came back to life five minutes after the prayer ended beside her, and a brain cancer patient told he would not wake for six months who answered his wife's call within hours and stood up from the stretcher. "We are in a season of a revival of the strange acts of God."

Birthday prophetic blessings

Pastor Jerry declared three:

  1. Where you reached out with your own hand, it is replaced with the hand of the Lord; nothing will escape what is coming to you.
  2. Hands on the head: the Lord is making you 8,000 times more.
  3. Hands lifted: let the earth, wind, galaxies, elements, institutions and structures answer to your command and your prayer.

Testimonies played / recapped

  • UK volunteer, marital settlement: prayed for marriage with a wedding veil she had bought; volunteered as a worker for Pastor Jerry's UK visit and was prayed for the day before the Twickenham Stadium conference. Met her husband 10 days after; he proposed on Pastor Jerry's birthday. Traditional and white weddings held; they prayed with him at Streams of Joy Abuja.
  • Juliet, 32: resolved to marry before her 33rd birthday. During the birthday week Pastor Jerry declared marital settlement over women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Met a man on Instagram, he came to Nigeria in late September, engaged 8 December, traditional marriage 8 January.
  • Single mother of two, Finland: a man came into her life in February, proposed in July, paid the bride price in August, court wedding in October. Applied for permanent residence on 4 November and was granted it in under 24 hours.
  • Chinelo: joined the altar in October 2024. In November a word was given (captioned "Pastor James") about a husband who stepped out of the house and never came back. Hers had been gone four to five years; he began communicating and came home. Health and her children's careers also restored.
  • Cynthia, Edo State (caption "endo state"): on Sunday 27 July around 7 pm, returning from buying milk, she was seized at her gate and taken into the bush with her baby. Threatened that the baby would be killed first, she kept praying "O prayer", shouting "amen" and "fire" in the bush at NSPPD time, and asked her angels to give the captors compassion. Around 10 pm on 31 July she and the baby were released with her phone and about 20,000 naira for the hospital. Afterwards she heard the Tuesday prayer that "nothing will die in your hands."
  • Dr. Mamenu (name uncertain), consultant family physician: joined two years ago through her daughter, at first assuming Pastor Jerry had a doctor friend feeding him medical names. During this year's 21-day fast, postmenopausal bleeding led to a total abdominal hysterectomy; histology showed cancer, and CT showed lymph nodes of uncertain cause. She held to the words "go back and check, what they saw before they will not see again" and "cervical cancer, let it disappear." PET scan in Lagos: no residual disease, no metabolically active cells, no metastasis. Vault smear six months on: negative. She had stood at the altar on 16 March promising to return with a testimony. She now adds her patients to the altar.
  • Pastor Jerry's recap, three weeks earlier: a word of knowledge about someone beside a dead woman, told to turn up the phone volume and place it beside her. The mother had been confirmed clinically dead; nothing happened when the prayer ended, but five minutes later she came back to life.
  • Brain cancer surgery: a woman whose husband was operated on for brain cancer was told he would not regain consciousness for six months and might never walk. She answered "what God cannot do does not exist", called his name in the ICU, and he responded within hours. When staff removed the window blinds to get his stretcher out, he stood up on his feet.

Important message

  1. Mercy is the turning point. When strength, experts and open doors have all failed, mercy interrupts cycles of shame, brings a new garment and a turnaround.
  2. It is nothing for God to help. With or without a doctor, a helper, a process or a structure, He can do it, and the help He gives closes whole chapters: shame, endless negative journeys, disease.
  3. God is not the father who answers a cry for help with a stone, a snake or cancer. "That's not who you are."
  4. Those with little strength who have kept His word and not denied His name are in line for an open door.
  5. Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed we would have been finished; mercy is what keeps a remnant and gives it a seat.
  6. There is no death sentence in Christ. A consultant who once called cancer a death sentence now testifies it was reversed.
  7. We do not pray only because we have problems; we pray ahead, redeeming the time, because evil can fall "on a day" without warning.
  8. This is a season of a revival of the strange acts of God, where the dead are received back to life and no one will ask "where is your God?"
  9. Pastor K: the words of knowledge come from friendship with God, the way He spoke with Moses face to face; mercy is delivering evidence even for things not prayed for.
