OH LORD SHOW ME MERCY

The last day of September was kept as mercy day. After the opening reel and a salvation prayer, the altar settled into a slow cry of "Mercy, Lord", and Pastor Jerry had the people lift both hands and declare, "Arroi, show me mercy." He built the prayer out of scripture about a God who helps when nothing else can: "Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion", "in thy manifold mercies thou forsookest them not in the wilderness", "come boldly to the throne of grace", and the promise to save the house of Judah "not by sword, not by horses, not by horsemen" but by mercy. The confession that carried it was simple: "I cannot do it on my own. I cannot fix it all by myself. All I ask is mercy."

He prayed to "the God of my journey", the one who does not forsake, who goes ahead to make the crooked path straight, and for whom "it is nothing to help, whether with many or with them that have no strength". The great high priest "touched with the feeling of my infirmity" was asked for mercy "where there is guilt, where there is failure, where the experts have given up, where they say it is the end of the road". Then the prayer turned to a turnaround: "By your mercy, let there be a turnaround before September becomes October", a "last-minute intervention" from the God of the eleventh hour, with Peter sinking and crying "pull me out", and Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus who "did not just cry; you woke him up." The reason for the day was stated plainly: "There is a reason the last day of the month is mercy day, because he wants to make everything new. Where there is mercy, there is newness."

The words of knowledge came as a long run of "If you are the one, put it on the live stream... let it be reversed": kidney cancer, polycystic liver disease, primary ciliary dyskinesia, Noonan syndrome, osteoporosis, a breadwinner who slumped two days ago, a mother and sister in the ICU together, basal ganglia calcification, absence seizures, holes in the heart, and a reconciliation after 32 years of separation. He then shouted October in, announced tomorrow's first of the month prayer and fast, and had the people kneel, put together a seed of thanksgiving and write the day's prophetic word: "The mercy of God has prevailed."

The testimony reel held three stories kept back from the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference: a woman with seven miscarriages and a lost fallopian tube who now has a girl and a boy, a nurse cleared of triple negative breast cancer, and a couple of doctors who had triplets after 22 years and 14 failed IVF cycles. The service closed with the salvation email, three communions, short words from Pastor K and a second minister on "true riches", Psalm 91 and seven rounds of congratulations prophesied into October.

• Tomorrow also opens the last quarter of the year: "We are not just going to be praying for October. We are going to be arranging how the year will end."

Testimonies played / recapped

All three were recorded for last Saturday's UK gathering and not heard there because of time.

• Woman with seven miscarriages: married in 2016 and lost seven pregnancies in the first three years; the marriage broke up because the family blamed her. A friend introduced her to NSPPD in December 2020. In 2021 she took the word "women in their 30s, 40s, 50s, your spouses have been released". She met her husband on 25 November; he visited on Christmas Day carrying a communion and a handband, and proposed on 30 December. They married in 2022. An ectopic pregnancy then cost her one fallopian tube. She travelled to Nigeria for the 21 days of fasting and prayer in 2023 and heard "I see babies everywhere, carry your babies"; her husband kept telling her "you may not see the wind or the rain, but your valley is full of water." Going in for a fibroid operation, she was found to be pregnant and had a baby girl. In 2025 she asked for a boy and bought a blue T-shirt; her son is now six months old.
• Olu, a nurse in the UK: she turned 50 in 2023, the year she joined NSPPD. In November 2023 an itch in her right breast led to a self-examination, a small fixed lump, a GP referral, a biopsy and mammogram, and three cancerous lumps, two in the breast and one in an armpit lymph node: triple negative breast cancer, "one of the hardest to treat". Her YouTube opened NSPPD "by itself", and within ten minutes she heard "every triple negative cancer, the Lord is rolling it away", on a recording from the very week in November she was diagnosed. For about a week she could not climb into bed and crawled to the toilet. After surgery the pathology came back: "everything has disappeared, everything is cleared." She came to the NSPPD conference in 2024 and has served on the ushering team in 2025 and 2026.
• A couple of doctors, triplets after 22 years (family name unclear, captions "OPA"): 22 years of waiting and 14 failed IVF cycles in the UK at about £6,000 to £7,000 each. The husband had given up; his wife kept believing. He found Streams of Joy on YouTube on 19 October 2023. Words he kept: 2 April 2024 "miracle babies, carry your babies"; May 2024 "I hear the sound of babies everywhere". They visited Streams of Joy Abuja on 16 June 2024. On Saturday 10 August 2024 his wife, vomiting and bleeding, had a scan that showed "three dots". After every earlier failure he had dreamt of a man and a woman pulling the baby out; this time he told them, "You have come too late." She was admitted with vomiting so severe that she was used to teach medical students. Words followed: 13 August "affliction will not arise a second time", 17 September Isaiah 66:9, 25 September "your house will no longer be empty, the shouts of children shall be heard". Told to remove one or two babies so the pregnancy could hold, they refused. In December he himself had low magnesium and a raised PSA and was sent for an urgent MRI for prostate cancer on the 31st; the altar called "hypomagnesemia" and "prostate cancer reversed" (date garbled, about 26 December 2024) and all of it was reversed. On Thursday 13 February 2025 he had crushing chest pain into his left shoulder, waited three hours for an ambulance, and had a raised troponin at A&E; he joined NSPPD at 7:00 a.m. and the repeat test was flat. Refusing delivery at 30, 32 and 33 weeks, they delivered on Monday 24 February 2025 at 35 weeks and 5 days: two boys and a girl. The girl went straight to her mother's bedside, the boys after six hours of observation, and none needed NICU.
• His request to everyone: "When you are doing your prayer points, your first prayer point should be your pastor. God preserve my pastor."
• Pastor Jerry's commentary: the man is a consultant and a regional deputy director in the UK NHS and his wife is also a doctor, so "if it is medicine", they had it all. The dream showed "there was a siege" that said "no matter what you do, it will not work"; the altar answered with fire. Of the first woman: "When she had two fallopian tubes she lost seven babies. When she had one, God gave her two." Of Olu: "Bad news demobilises you", and any power waiting with negativity "as you cross from one age to another" is reversed.

1. Mercy is the only ground. "Not our prayers, not our fasting, but the mercies of God." Victory is not by sword, horses or horsemen; "victory belongs to your mercy."
2. Mercy reaches where everything else has stopped: guilt, failure, the experts giving up, "the end of the road", not knowing what to pray or who to talk to. The high priest is touched by the feeling of our infirmity, and "it is nothing for you to help" those with no strength.

5. Everything is not physical. The testimonies showed a "siege" behind 14 failed attempts, and what the best of medicine could not give came by a word from the altar: "true riches", what money cannot buy. "What God cannot do does not exist."
6. The month is closed and the next one opened: "The mercy of God has prevailed. You are not just entering a new month, it is your new season."
