THE SOUND OF THE ABUNDANCE OF RAIN

The Sunday theme was "The sound of the abundance of rain", preached at Streams of Joy Abuja on day 28/29 of the church's 40 Days of Power, Manifestations and Miracles. The opening prayer session was a long "let it rain" altar: former rain, latter rain and present rain asked for at the same time, delay declared broken fourteen times over ("Delay break - in the name of Jesus"), and the congregation told to release a date, call their own name and say "congratulation." Pastor Jerry framed the whole day around one cry: "I hear the sound of the abundance of rain."

First service - Genesis 7:17-24 (Noah). Instead of running straight to Elijah, he taught the dynamics of God's answers from the flood. Rain fell forty days, but the ark rose: "You may not feel the rain, but your ark will rise." The mandate of the rain is not to lift you but to lift the ark - and you are already inside it, your life hid with Christ in God. As the waters prevailed, the mountains were covered - not removed, but no longer seen: "For every mountain, raise the rain. Don't let the mountain give you assignment; let the rain of God become your excitement." He also did the arithmetic on the text: it rained roughly one month, but the waters stayed 150 days - "it rained for 40 days, but the rain lasted 150 days" - a word against being written off as a one-time wonder. From Genesis 8 he added the raven and the dove: the dove kept returning, symbolic of peace and of the Holy Spirit - "your rain has come; relax, be still and know that I am God."

Second service - Luke 15:11-32 (the prodigal son). The father "divided unto him his living" - and Pastor Jerry played on the spelling: the father's l-i-v-i-n-g is what he wants to l-e-a-v-e in you, and a riotous kind of living is not compatible with it ("nobody uses an LG remote on a Samsung television"). Two further turns: the elder brother asked what these things meant when he heard music and dancing - but "in this kingdom we can dance anytime," blessed are they that know the joyful sound; and the son came home because of hunger, yet the father dealt first with the robe, the ring and the shoes - "I would fail you as your God if I give you what brought you and not make you who you should be." The father refused a transactional relationship: "I'm not waiting for you to impress me. I'm your father."

Third service - 1 Kings 18 (Elijah at Carmel). 850 prophets of Baal and the groves against one man: "no matter how many they are, one word is enough" - and a rebuke of reactionary prayer, "we don't react to the devil, we set an agenda for the devil." The core charge of the day came here: chapter 18 opens with "I will send rain," yet the middle of the chapter is fire. "Before the rain came, fire came. There's a generation looking for rain, but they've got no fire." Guard your fire, ask for fresh fire, because "we are not just partakers of the rain - we are rain makers." He closed on Elijah's seven checks: the servant looked, but the prophet prayed - "we are not the generation that is watching, we are the generation that is praying."

Fourth service - 1 Kings 17:8-16 (the widow of Zarephath). To bring the widow into abundance, God made a demand on her little - and on her hard thing, not her easy one ("water is easy… God is not going to be tasking you on easy"). What was protected was not the barrel but the word over the barrel: "if they cannot break the word, they cannot break you - put a prophecy over it." What multiplied was raw material, not finished product: God may increase ideas, favour and helpers, but "you have to use the idea to make cake." And the supply lasted until the day the Lord sendeth rain - the day Elijah walked away: "overflow is a person." Be discerning about who is in which chapter of your life.

Testimonies ran through every service - a car somersaulting twice with the driver walking away unhurt, a nurse who went from a friend's living room in Wales to owning a house, a UK sponsorship and visa restored with less than five hours left, a NICU baby out of the incubator the morning the word was released, a removed ovary found present again by doctors in Japan, a filling-station fire that stopped short of the fence, schizophrenia reversed when drugs were exchanged for daily communion. The service ended with the congregation praying in the Spirit and making their own sound: "Abundance of rain - oh, let it fall."

• One testifier (Emmanuel) reported giving his life to Christ in this church two weeks earlier, at the first-timers' call.

Testimonies given on the altar

Second service

• Margaret Egwim (Abuja, serves with the Cabot team) - took the Thursday NSPPD word "you will not die by accident… you will go out and return to your family" and the Friday word "no obituary… every dark cloud removed." Fasted 6-to-6 on her birthday, Friday 31 July. On the Sunday, on her regular route (Oba/St. Joe junction), a speeding car hit her; the car somersaulted twice. She was pulled out, taken to hospital, CT-scanned - nothing missing, nothing broken. Her children were not in the car that day.
• Bose (Wales, UK; nurse) - in 2022 living in a friend's living room; heard NSPPD, and that day the word "that email you're waiting for, you will receive it." A trust in Swansea emailed offering her a job she had never applied for; a helper gave her £1,000 cash that cleared her debt. In 2023, during the UK conference, her son's visa was approved for biometrics while Pastor Jerry was declaring. In 2025, after a fourth-service "Lazarus, come forth" prayer, a house purchase went through even though her money was incomplete - the agent and landlord let her pay the balance later.
• Tafara (from Zimbabwe, came from Vienna, Austria) - joined NSPPD from Germany during her master's. After a 9 April "spontaneous miracle" instruction to post it on her socials, her employer approved travel to the Abuja conference the next morning at 8:51. Set a date for her PhD as instructed: submitted her thesis 11 June, papers accepted first pass, defending in September. Also, an uncle missing for 19 years returned home to the family in June.
• Jonah Azuka (UK) - relocated 2022; lost his sponsorship in 2024, was reported to the DBS in November and investigated. He anointed the letter with communion daily after prayers; in February a "no further action" letter cleared him. His visa was then shortened, leaving 60 days to get a CoS or leave; his contract was terminated on the Friday before expiry. On the Monday morning NSPPD ("The Most High showed up"), one hour four minutes into the prayer Pastor Jerry declared "your name is on the final list… they will call you today." HR called that day; the CoS was approved with less than five hours to visa expiry, and visas for his family (four applied first, then the two lapsed children the next day) were granted - the approval coming through on a Sunday morning.

Third service

• A sister serving in Abuja (name unclear in captions) - after a 4 February fibroid surgery she developed fever, a swollen abdomen and discharge. On 9 February, on her way to hospital, she heard the word of knowledge: "That surgery that is trying to bring complications - by the power that raised Jesus Christ, it is reversed by fire." Admitted with widespread infection and scheduled for a second surgery, she dreamt of Pastor Jerry praying, woke, was led to pull a tiny thread from the healed surgical site; the abscess drained through it, the second surgery was cancelled. Six months on, her scan report shows nothing missing, nothing broken.
• Eniru - married January 2024; diagnosed with PCOS and hormonal imbalance, lost a pregnancy with no heartbeat, and was told IVF was the only option. Standing on the altar's declarations over women seeking the fruit of the womb, she conceived without intervention and confirmed the test on 22 August, Pastor Jerry's birthday. At 30 weeks 5 days (9 February) she had no amniotic fluid; an emergency delivery revealed a detached placenta. The baby, 1.3 kg, was in NICU on CPAP. On 10 March at about 7:45-7:46 a.m., Pastor Jerry declared "Babies in the NICU, come out" - that same day the baby was moved out of the incubator into an open cot. The baby is 6 months old on 9 August and was in the service as the evidence.
• Mayenda (came from Japan) - in 2010 one ovary was removed after a ruptured ovarian cyst, confirmed repeatedly by doctors. During NSPPD prayers around 2024, on the word "creative miracles are happening," she laid her hand on her stomach and received her ovary. Her doctor in Japan later insisted he could see two ovaries, checked her records, and confirmed the earlier removal but still saw two. In 2025, hospitalised at five months with pre-term labour and leaking waters and told to expect three months in hospital, she prayed with Pastor Jerry's "what you are afraid of will not happen", stopped dilating, the leak stopped, and she was discharged and carried the baby to nine months. At the caesarean she asked the surgeons to check - both ovaries present and functioning. She appealed for Japan to be added to the ministry's flyers (NSPPD is 3 p.m. Japan time).

Fourth service

• Emma Morrison - after the Thursday NSPPD word "no one will die by accident" and the evening 9-9:30 p.m. prayer, she heard explosions: the Shafa filling station near her home had caught fire, with a flame front coming towards the house. She woke her son and the family fled; the fire burned for five hours despite six or seven fire trucks, destroying the station and two nearer buildings, but stopped short of theirs. Her daughter's graduation went ahead the next day, with awards including best student in a subject.
• Emmanuel (Emma's son) - testified to four years of hidden depression and suicidal thoughts, and to giving his life to Christ two weeks earlier at his first visit to the church. He also confirmed the filling-station fire, which did not cross their fence. A cinematographer, filmmaker and event host, he offered his skills and proposed a youth camp.
• Omote James - came from Lagos to Abuja for a job, lost it, and was recalled to Kogi. Holding a maturity-class word on discernment ("some things will look good but are not God's plan"), and after a kidnapping incident there, he returned to Abuja. His sister (watching from London) then showed him three cars and told him to pick one so he could get to church - standing on the "evidence within 14 days" word from America. He is now a car owner.
• Zara Bellow (came with her family from the UK) - her son Jeremiah developed severe leg pain around his birthday on 13 October. Blood results were abnormal; he was diagnosed with osteomyelitis, developed stage 3 acute kidney injury from the antibiotics and high blood pressure, and was moved to intensive care for nine days, with surgery planned. On the ninth day her sister sent word that someone on NSPPD had just testified of healing from osteomyelitis after Pastor Jerry mentioned the case. Her son opened his eyes and asked for food, then asked for the catheter to be removed so he could walk - and walked with a Zimmer frame the next morning. The surgery was cancelled; kidney injury, osteomyelitis and blood pressure all reversed. A former Muslim, she said she had promised God she would bring her whole family to testify in person.
• Margaret Joseph (widow) - two testimonies. Her only daughter left a job six months in to obey God and serve in ministry; claiming the altar's "marital settlement" declarations, a classmate reconnected from October last year and the wedding was completed on 24 July - "God gave her an odogwu." Second, her son suddenly became violently disturbed on the Abuja-Nyanya/Ajaokuta road, jumped from a moving vehicle, ran into highway traffic, grabbed a soldier's weapon and smashed a car's windscreen; the vehicle owner was told by a phone call to drop the case. Doctors found no drugs and diagnosed schizophrenia, with lifetime medication; there was a family pattern of the same. After a Lagos prayer conference testimony about schizophrenia and a mantle obtained from Pastor Jerry, she withdrew the drugs and exchanged them for daily communion with her son's agreement. Six months on, he is stable and has completed his NECO exams.

Words of knowledge / healing declarations

• "It will not be up to 30 days… It will not be by IVF, it will be by the hand of the Lord" - conception.
• A family in perpetual dryness - reversed; rain of favour, grace and access; fallow ground broken.
• 27 years of mental sickness - reversed.
• Children with Down syndrome (captioned "downrum"), ADHD and autism - "let it be reversed."
• Powers projecting a wrong image of you; powers holding down finances so a project cannot become reality; powers connecting you to people who water down your destiny; voices speaking from your father's house - broken.
• Delay: "Delay of any kind - from my father's house, from my mistakes, by any projection, by any covering", followed by the fourteen-fold declaration "Delay break - in the name of Jesus", and "It will still happen in August."
• Delay in healing, career, the marketplace, "the stubborn man", and of what rightfully belongs to you - broken.

1. When God releases answers, they come in abundance. That is not peculiar to a 40-day fast; it is the character of him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think.
2. You are not a time being praying into eternity - you are an eternal being making the will of God happen in time, and the currency of that transaction is faith. Faith is not emergency boldness or audacity; it is the accumulation of your convictions about God. Sarah judged him faithful - a verdict reached on evidence.
3. The rain's mandate is to lift the ark, not to lift you. You may not feel the rain or hear it, but if you are in the ark your life rises with it, because your life is hid with Christ in God.
4. The answer to a mountain is rain. God does not remove the mountains; he raises the waters until they are no longer seen. Don't let the mountain give you an assignment - let the rain become your excitement.
5. The rain outlasts the raining. It rained forty days, but the waters prevailed 150. One meeting, one door, one person can carry a season far longer than the event that produced it - so those who called you a one-time wonder miscalculated.
6. There is a part of your answer called transformation that you will miss because you are only watching for the part called evidence. Somewhere in the waiting you grew to love God more than the answer.
7. Align with the rain, and don't become another person's prayer point. Everything outside the ark - outside the pattern and will of God - did not survive the flood.
8. The Father's living is not compatible with riotous living. You have received resources, grace and enablement from him; live in a way that does not waste them. "I can't live anyhow."
9. Blessed are they that know the joyful sound. Do not be the elder brother asking what the music means. Expect good, not danger; release a sound ahead of the good news; celebrate other people's rain, because what he does for them does not stop what he wants to do for you - "all that I have is thine."
10. God's relationship with you is not transactional. The prodigal came home hungry and asked to be a hired servant; the Father dealt with the robe, the ring and the shoes first - "I would fail you as your God if I gave you what brought you and did not make you who you should be."
11. One word from God is enough, however many the voices against you. And we do not pray reacting to what the devil said; we set the agenda.
12. Before the rain came, fire came. A generation is praying for rain with no fire. Ask for fresh fire, guard your fire - "if your fire goes off, they will treat you like Samson." We are not just partakers of the rain; we are rain makers.
13. Pray; don't only watch. Elijah's servant did the looking; Elijah kept his posture and prayed until the seventh time.
14. Put a prophecy over what you have. God was not protecting a barrel of meal - he was protecting his word over it. If they cannot break the word, they cannot break you; the word is on autopilot and knows where it is taking you.
15. God will task you on the hard thing, not the easy one, when you are about to break into a bigger place - water was easy; the cake was the demand.
16. What God multiplies is raw material, not finished product. He may increase your ideas, your favour, your helpers - you still have to turn them into cake.
17. Overflow is a person. Every blessing is routed through people; be discerning about who belongs in which chapter of your life, and do not trade off people you will need soon.

Today / this season

• Say it, and keep saying it: "I hear the sound of the abundance of rain." Tell it to your neighbours; walk up to 14 persons and say it (in one service, three neighbours).
• Make your sound - pray in the Holy Ghost, declare, "dig the ditches with your tongues," create the atmosphere for your rain. "New seasons are preceded by sounds."
• Pray for fire before rain: "My Father, set me on fire", "More fire, Lord", and guard your fire - against laziness, prayerlessness, lust, addiction and anything that would put it out.
• Put a prophecy over your documents, your career, your appointment letter, your business, the works of your hands - every day, not once.
• Stop arguing with the mountain; ask for rain until the mountains are no longer seen.
• Rededicate: "I cannot live anyhow" - for those the prayer was for, a fresh commitment of life, passion and consecration.
• Rejoice with those who rejoice. Don't be angry at another person's celebration.
• Give offerings, tithes and partnership as a wave offering; support the church building project (account details on screen).
• Fill in the first-timer form and hand it to an usher; pick up a testimony form from the inquiry desk and submit it before the next service to be scheduled to testify.
• Speak the weekly declarations day by day (each service had its own set, all built on former rain, latter rain and present rain falling at once).

Bring two written lists: a restoration list of everything you want the Lord to restore, and a second list titled "I rebuke you in Jesus' name" with every negativity you refuse - that list will be torn during the service. Bring any new project that has not taken off or has stalled. Invite family and friends.
