I AM ANOINTED FOR THIS - PART 7

Thursday Word & Fire opens with a long worship set (Hosanna, "I worship the Holy One of Israel," "out of my belly shall flow rivers of living water," "You are God and God alone," "You are worthy," "He is a good God"). Prayer then turns to preservation from Psalm 124: if the Lord had not been on their side when men rose up, they would have been swallowed; souls have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowler. The house is told to prepare the heart the way Ezra did, because this is not an ordinary gathering but an encounter, and because there was an anointing before there was an assignment. The cry of the night is already on the table: "I am anointed for this."

Fire prayer presses the Holy Ghost as the answer to every "how." Mary's question in Luke 1 ("How can this be, seeing I know not a man?") is turned into hospital beds, delayed marriage, a business with no connections, and prophecies that do not yet look like the facts. The angel's reply is the prayer: the Holy Ghost will overshadow you. The house shouts for another measure, for Bezalel-style calling by name (Exodus 31), for wonders to multiply in their hands like the five loaves and two fishes, and for the yoke to be destroyed because of the anointing. They fire against Herod, Jezebel, and Athaliah attacking the heads of men with oil; against exploits becoming yesterday's tale; against Goliaths that stop anointed people; and against a dry cup when the head has already been anointed. Declarations land: a new season, breaking out and breaking forth, fallow ground broken, multiple open doors, no organ failure, no infirmity, the Lord anointing the head and the cup running over.

The Word is 2 Kings 2:1-22, read standing: Elijah and Elisha from Gilgal to Bethel, Jericho, and Jordan. Part 7 of I Am Anointed For This is about the anointed generation: not people who brandish a mantle, but people who make exploits happen through it. The sons of the prophets did not bow when Elisha picked the mantle; they bowed when Jordan divided. Teaching then stacks the marks of that generation: they refuse distraction in seasons of transition (the whirlwind throws dust while Elisha must still see Elijah go); they find their place when seasons change; they follow through even when the master says stay; they ask for double, not a copy; they tear the old garment before they pick the new mantle; their problems are signposts of the assignment God kept for them (Jericho's bitter water was not Elijah's job); and God will separate them, even by fire, so the fullness of destiny can show. The close is a wave offering, Friday and Sunday announcements, a welcome for Pastor Abraham of Master Builders, Enugu, a Psalm 91 decree, fourteen people shouted "Glory," and "Give me oil in my lamp."

1. Anointing precedes assignment. Isaiah 61 is read as: the Spirit is upon us, then the preaching and the binding. Yesterday's oil is already stale for tonight's encounter; fresh task needs fresh anointing. Bezalel is the picture: the assignment has your name on it, so you will not fail and you will not fall.
2. The Holy Ghost is the how. Mary's "how can this be" is every worshipper's how: hospital, marriage, business, prophecy that does not yet match the facts. The answer is not another prayer meeting you wait for; it is engaging the Helper who overshadows, helps infirmities, and quickens.
3. Anointing on the head must show as a cup that runs over. You can be on the altar every day and still have a dry cup in finance, health, or marriage. That is not God. Daniel's 21-day delay is used to say the answer can already be released while a principality still sits on the overflow. A generation is waiting to drink from your overflow.
4. The anointed generation is measured by exploits, not by the mantle on display. Elisha picked Elijah's mantle and nobody bowed. He struck Jordan, asked "Where is the Lord God of Elijah?", the waters parted, and then they said the spirit of Elijah rested on him. "Your generation will not respect you because you know Bible. You are not the first Bible-knowing believer." Title, gift, position, even fellowship with God, is not enough until the mantle divides Jordan, heals the sick, shifts a family, and breaks new ground.
5. Seasons of transition come with distraction, and can come with destruction. Elijah's condition for the double portion was "if thou see me when I am taken." The chariot of fire parts them, then a whirlwind throws dust. Elisha has to look through sand and shout "My father, my father." Discouragement, old failure, comparison, barking dogs, sudden SMS and temptation, and David's roof in the year kings went to war are all named as dust in the eye at the exact moment of lifting. "If you have ever felt distracted… chances are you have reached your season of transition."
6. Every season change creates a vacancy; find your place. The sons of the prophets knew Elijah was leaving and still stayed spectators. "This vacancy was not for them." Government change brings new appointments; 2005 thinking in 2026 misses the opening. Ask: where is my place of relevance, distinction, and manifestation, in business, career, or ministry?
7. The anointed generation is a follow-through generation. Elisha would not stay at Gilgal, Bethel, or Jericho. Elijah himself said "tarry here"; Elisha said "as the Lord liveth… I will not leave thee." What you are following is bigger than the man. The Syrophoenician woman would not take offence at "dogs" because she wanted the crumb. "Don't be counted amongst those that started and stopped."
8. Ask for double, then let results speak. Elisha did not ask for Elijah's anointing; he asked for double. "You will not stop where your father stopped. God will use you to change the benchmark." Elisha never announced "I am now anointed." When the results showed, classmates bowed. "Relax, they will bow… don't let this encounter waste. They are looking."
9. Do not hide on the day of manifestation. Saul had the signs, joined the prophets, then hid under the stuff when Israel was ready to see him. After womb prophecies and altar encounters, the danger is still hiding. Powers that hide men and eclipse light in their season must break.
10. Tear the old garment before you pick the new mantle. Elisha rent his own clothes in two, then took Elijah's mantle. Mixing the two is new wine in an old wineskin. The old man is a garment. Destiny is calling, but some clothes no longer fit. People may call you naked; the ones God sent you to will still bow.
11. The problem in front of you is often the assignment that was saved for you. Elijah walked through Jericho and nobody reported the bitter water. When Elisha arrived with the mantle, the men of the city said the situation looks pleasant but the water is naught and the ground barren. "They are facing it because God has given you the mantle to solve it." Opposition is a signpost of the mantle; hell does not bother what is not a threat. "Trust me, you have what it takes to fix it."
12. Separation can be painful and still be by fire. The chariot of fire is what parted Elijah from Elisha. Adult circumcision in Joshua is the picture of God cutting away what you thought you needed. After prayer some people simply stop talking to you: do not ask why; it is separation. "In the year that Uzziah died, I saw the Lord." Ask to be separated from loves that would destroy you, desires out of sync with God's will, and relationships that dilute the work.

• Thank God for preservation and mercy; prepare your heart to receive the word (Ezra 7:10); ask for a fresh anointing, not yesterday's oil.
• Engage the Holy Ghost as the how: shout "Holy Ghost, overshadow me"; press for another measure; do not wait for someone else to pray for you.
• Declare "I am anointed for this" to your neighbour (later walk to five neighbours with the same line); also "I am unstoppable," "I am one of them," "I won't be distracted," "I will follow through," "I tear it," "yes Lord."
• Fire prayer: against Herod and territorial powers on the head of the anointed; against exploits becoming a yesterday tale; against Goliaths; against a dry cup; "tonight, not tomorrow, evidence appear"; "this is my last day on this level."
• Desire exploits through the mantle, not the display of it: "Lord, let my mantle divide Jordan, heal the sick, shift my family, break open new ground."
• Look through the dust of transition; do not compare; do not go back to vomit; do not pay attention to every barking dog; set your face as a flint.
• Ask God to open your eyes to your place, and stay there.
• Follow through what the Lord has begun; put your hand to the plow and do not look back; forget what is behind and press to the mark.
• Tear every old garment, old mindset, and limitation before you pick what God is putting on you; do not mix the two.
• Receive painful separations as part of the mantle; ask, "Even if it hurts me, separate me from what I don't need."
• Stand, raise two hands, and speak in the Holy Ghost before the offering.
• Bring offering, tithe, and partnership as a wave offering.
• Share with a neighbour what blessed you; walk up to 14 persons and scream "Glory."
• Close with Psalm 91: "I am dwelling in the secret place of the Most High… in him will I trust."
