I AM ANOINTED FOR THIS - PART 2

Thursday Word & Fire at Streams of Joy Abuja, 12 March 2026, is Part 2 of I Am Anointed For This. Worship runs long before the fire: Who is like you? No one can be compared to you. You are glorious in holiness, Glorious God, we praise your name, we lay our crowns, Unto the Lamb upon the throne, Hallelujah, that is what my soul will be, There is no one like you, Jesus, you are the cup that will not run dry; your presence is heaven to me, Yahweh, I worship you, You deserve the glory, You have been faithful; you will be with me to the very end. They rise to bless the Lord for goodness, mercy, faithfulness, keeper, helper, shield, and defender. Opening prayer lifts Psalm 121 for help that shifts destinies, then Psalm 16 for joy, peace, and comfort in his presence, then the servant of God as he comes to minister. The cry of the night, shouted to neighbours, through the fire, and again at the close, is "I am anointed for this."

Fire prayer (after last week's teaching that the Holy Ghost produces power and is the anointing) presses: Holy Ghost, make me another man; I go about doing good; demons bow to this oil; Adonijah scatter; touch not my anointed; gates and two-leaved doors open; Peter's iron gate, Ephphatha; I am anointed to preach good news; yokes break; serpents and scorpions under my feet; special miracles through my hands; who is sponsoring Delilah; Jezebel, I am your nemesis in the order of Jehu; instant manifestation, not thirty years later; Pharaoh, I return with anointing. They tell fourteen neighbours: you may not like my face, pedigree, or CV, but I am anointed for this. The hand of the Lord is upon me. I lay hands on the sick and they recover. They stole from father and mother; I am anointed to break the cycle and reverse the siege.

The Word is 1 Samuel 17:38-54, read standing, but tonight stays on the preliminaries: chapter 16, Eliab, the harp in Saul's house, and the heart God was shopping for. He says if they leave him he would read both 16 and 17; he will go into the passage they just read next week. Charge of the night: if the Lord allowed it to come your way, you are anointed for it; it did not come so you would get depressed; it came so you would fix it. Old covenant oil sealed priest, prophet, and king; new covenant oil is the infilling of the Holy Ghost, the signature of God. No believer was begotten to warm a bench. Destiny is as unique as a fingerprint. What has not happened yet is a consequence of who you have not become. David is the model: boy, king, brokenhearted, emperor whose dance before the ark offended Michal. First point: do not fight Eliab and miss Goliath. Second: the oil takes you into rooms prophetically before you sit on the throne; before you get there, you get there. Third: chapter 16 oil, chapter 17 Goliath; the oil on your head is aggression from hell, and the battle is an announcement. Fourth: God refused Eliab's height and chose a kingdom heart; the bush (lion and bear) was a heart class. Close: wave offering, Friday glory and impartation, Sunday "my case is different", Saturday women and theatre, Psalm 91, then fourteen people told "I am anointed for this." 1. If it came your way, you are anointed for it. The assignment did not arrive so you would get depressed; it arrived so you would fix it. Every mistake and every failure is part of the story and part of the becoming. Old covenant oil sealed priest, prophet, and king; new covenant oil is the infilling of the Holy Ghost, God's signature. No believer was begotten to warm a bench or be an ordinary statistic. God saw a vacuum and raised you. Destiny is as unique as a fingerprint: no one else has your sound, voice, insight, audacity, or authenticity. If they ask why you, ask why not you. Nigeria is the way it is because God has a role for you. What has not happened yet is a consequence of who you have not become. The man at the Beautiful Gate stayed lame until Peter and John became men of fire.
2. Do not fight Eliab and miss Goliath. When David asked what would be done to the man who removed the reproach, Eliab's anger kindled: few sheep, pride, naughty heart, you came to watch the battle. Other translations pile on: scrawny flock, ringside seat, presumption, overconfidence, evil heart. David answers humbly: what have I now done? Is there not a cause? The battle is not between me and you; the target is Goliath. You were anointed to bring Goliath down, not to fight your brother. Some people miss their season because they fight battles that are not theirs. Jerry's NSPPD vow: no matter what brethren or pastors say, he will not dignify it with a reply. His battle is against cancer, foundations of father's houses, marine spirits, ancestral curses, not against people. Do not leave assignment to quarrel with an office mate, freeze a father's house, or live on he said, she said. Answer Eliab and move forward. Do not pray Eliab prayers when you should be praying Goliath prayers.
3. The oil takes you in prophetically before the throne is yours. David was anointed king in chapter 16 with no idea what a kingdom looked like. An evil spirit sat in the government house; the Spirit of God sat on David. Before he could take over, he had to enter and chase the spirit out. They thought he went to play the harp; he went because of the oil. Saul was refreshed, the spirit departed, and the man not yet king was already doing kingly work. There are places you must enter ahead of time. Years before COVID, a small pastor from Umuahia passed a London venue and said, "Father, soon I will be here." Declare: before I get there, I get there. When God brings a person or a room that looks like answered prayer, do not pretend it is normal. Partake of grace. Wherever the sole of your feet treads, you have it for a possession.
4. Chapter 16 oil, chapter 17 Goliath: the oil is aggression from hell, and the battle is an announcement. You expected a palace, family thanksgiving, and a party. The next thing was a giant. Your oil rattles them. Battles in health and elsewhere after a real encounter are how you know you are anointed. The devil never stops anyone who is not a threat. David's anointing was private; Goliath made it public. After the fall, the women sang Saul's thousands and David's ten thousands. David did not hire a campaign. God brought Goliath for announcement, shift, and a new season. Stop asking "why me?" Ask "why not you?"
5. God shops for heart, not height. Samuel would have poured oil on Eliab. God refused him. Man looks on countenance and stature; the Lord looks on the heart. Jerry is afraid of men God has refused who are still in the army, and of men heaven has rejected who still sit on the throne. Saul died on the throne. The CV God wanted was not six-pack or look; it was a kingdom heart. Lion and bear in the bush were not random; they were heart class. David's heart: assignment first, sheep first, not me first, not dignity first. Family would have shouted "come back, I will explain to Daddy." He went after the one sheep. That same heart answered Goliath: we are not servants of Saul; we are the armies of the living God. If you fail the bush class, you are not promoted to the palace. Breakthroughs and platforms can be heart checks, not the real thing. Misappropriate the check and the kingdom eludes you. Keep thy heart with all diligence. May we always be small in our own eyes. Watch your heart so you do not take God's praise. Offenses will come; people who do not know you will talk as if they do. The heart is why some people's favour cannot be explained.
6. Restlessness is the oil. You know you are anointed for a special assignment when you are restless while others rest, go the extra mile while others do the normal, refuse the status quo, keep praying when others give up, and keep forgiving when it looks like you have no sense. Those who do not understand will call it ambition. The Spirit quickens; something is doing you. From marriage until now he prayed through the night with no idea a future like this was coming. Sleep worried him; people said God is not a taskmaster. He would not eat "today's own." You are a different breed. When you become restless, remember: I carry a different oil.

• Refuse Eliab: "this battle is not for you; I refuse to fight you and miss my target / the vision." Do not fight your brother. Forget what is behind. Answer Eliab and move forward.
• Declare "before I get there, I get there" and speak in the Holy Ghost. When a person or room looks like answered prayer, partake; do not walk out pretending it is ordinary.
• Tell those fighting you to leave you alone: every battle is an announcement of a new season.
• Watch your heart. Stay small in your own eyes. Ask God to guard your thoughts. Keep kingdom first.
• Put together offering, tithe, and partnership as a wave offering.
• Share with a neighbour what blessed you tonight.
• Close with two hands lifted, Psalm 91, then walk up to 14 persons and scream "I am anointed for this."
