THANKSGIVING SERVICE

This was the Streams of Joy church Thanksgiving Service, run as four full Sunday services in one stream, each framed as a service of "the God of suddenly". Every service opened with long praise and month-by-month thanksgiving ("January, February, March... December, God has been faithful"), a prayer leader's fire prayers against "spoilers and wasters" and against anything planning to carry a testimony over into 2026, the weekly prophetic declarations (Monday to Saturday), and the 2025 declaration built on Arroi, the God who sees: "Heaven and earth, my case is different. I have seen the God that sees me." With 17 days left in the year, the refrain of the day was that 2025 will end in praise.

Pastor Jerry preached a different thanksgiving text in each service. In the first, from John 6 (the five loaves and two fishes), he showed that Jesus gave thanks before the miracle, while Philip and Andrew were doing sums that did not add up. The highest test of thanksgiving is to thank the Giver when the gift has not come: "If your calculation does not make sense, switch to thanksgiving." He also taught thanks for "the gift of men", the people God uses to carry your blessing to you (the disciples distributed the bread), for women who believe in you, and for the small things that saved you from embarrassment. In the second, from Luke 17 (the ten lepers), he asked "Is there really a reason to be thankful?" The one leper came back before the process with the priest was complete, and his thanks is what made him whole. The nine had got used to Jesus; the Samaritan had not. He told his own stories: kneeling and weeping in the aisle on his first flight to London as the son of a woman who sold groundnuts in the market, a fuel tanker crash near Port Harcourt he and his team escaped, and a plane that nearly crashed in February on the way back from the NSPPD Lagos conference. "Never get used to what God has done for you."

The third service turned on the testimonies themselves, above all Tonto's. She told of 27 years of smoking, heavy drinking, a 20-year backache, and bondage to altars and a spirit spouse, all broken since she came to God on the altar. Pastor Jerry called it the sermon of the service, prayed over her with the congregation's hands stretched out, and made an altar call for anyone far from God. In the fourth service, from Luke 15 (the elder brother of the prodigal son), he named the "thanksgiving killers": comparison, not knowing your inheritance ("Son, all that I have is thine"), losing sight of who you are (a destiny bigger than "a kid", a small goat), bitterness at another's blessing, standing outside the house, and fixation on other people's past. He closed that thread with a warning from 1 Corinthians 6:16 that sexual intimacy transfers spirits.

Words of knowledge in the first service covered marital grace between 16 and 31 December, a son who has not been talking, kidney and liver reports, two brothers with prostate cancer, an ovarian cyst report turned cancer, and a business with no sales ("one year sales in one day"), plus "another door will open in less than 24 hours" and "your helpers will not come late". Testimonies were many and long: a sister's heart restored after 10 years, a German citizenship, an Oxford degree, a white wedding the day before, healing from fibromyalgia called out on the livestream, a mother of one becoming a mother of three, a tumour that was gone on the operating table, and a lecture at the National Defence College. The day ended with the Nigerian Law School class of 1993 dancing out for their own thanksgiving and receiving a blessing.

Divine exemption prayers

• From today, seven days (Sunday to Saturday) of divine exemption prayers, about two minutes each, posted on Pastor Jerry's prayer WhatsApp channel, because "attacks rise in the last days of the year". Join the channel (scan the QR code) and forward the link and the prayers to family.

Communion

• Next Sunday, 21 December, is the communion service, theme "God Did It", in all four services. Prepare for it.

• 21 days of global fasting and prayer: 5 to 25 January 2026, 6am to 6pm, meeting every evening at 5:30pm.
• NSPPD Global Crossover Night: 31 December at the National Stadium (main bowl), Abuja. Registration by QR code was announced in the first service; in the second he said it is now open to everyone.

• Premium singles (40 and above, including widows and widowers) end-of-year dinner: 20 December, Royal Choice, 4pm. Men over 40 especially urged to come, and all to "come looking good".

Offering

• A thanksgiving seed, distinct from the regular offering, raised as a wave offering in every service, along with tithe and partnership.

Salvation

• Altar call in the third service after Tonto's testimony; prayer of forgiveness and "let the body of sin be broken". New converts to email the salvation address on screen (spoken as "salvation @ streams of joy"; exact address uncertain) and attend discipleship class Monday 6pm.

Testimonies played / recapped

• Vivian: sister in the United States with a heart problem for over 10 years, on the altar since 2020; her doctor said her heart "has gone back to normal". Daughter, prayed for by Pastor Jerry in 2020, entered university at 16, passed ICAN (caption "I can") at 19, and won awards at her Pan-Atlantic University convocation. Stalled promotion to executive level since 2021; she changed strategy to declaring "my name must be on that list" and is now promoted to executive cadre.
• Ada (flew in from Germany): healed of acute cervical spondylosis after being told she would end up in a wheelchair. Refused to take on her late uncle's cult obligations; documents seized in Italy, moved to Germany in 2015, a destiny helper at language school. Held on to Pastor Jerry's word "both the one you have and the bigger one you are looking for"; bought her ticket to testify in June by faith, and in October her German citizenship and passport came through.
• Henrietta (lawyer, protocol unit): Loyola University Chicago scholarship raised from 85% to 95%, then a 100% Oxford scholarship; graduated from Oxford with merit on 1 March 2025 and Loyola magna cum laude on 10 May 2025. Clooney Foundation fellowship (one of 10 African human rights lawyers, posted to Ghana), then a West Africa legal adviser role on reparations; returned to the Gambia as an expert on the African Commission panel. Met her husband in March; her estranged father reconciled in October; traditional wedding 20 November; white wedding on 13 December, her birthday, the date her mother had written in her crossover prayer journal.
• UK testifier (introduced with Naomi / Blessing Sylvester; name uncertain): UK driving licence on the first attempt despite a major fault, wearing an NSPPD hoodie with the mantle on the steering wheel. After 15 years of stagnation, an engineering job as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer with only a Nigerian bachelor's degree. On the altar daily since 2021.
• Fibromyalgia healing: from 2022 a presence and a figure saying "you are going to die"; then burning pain from scalp to feet, diagnosed as fibromyalgia in Nigeria, India and Turkey; medication over 500,000 naira a month for life, sleeping 30 minutes at most on pentazocine. Her boss sent her the NSPPD link. On 5 September she heard "I have healed you, give thanks", slept, and was walking, driving and cooking that day. On 9 December Pastor Jerry named fibromyalgia on the livestream; her doctor confirmed it is gone and stopped the medication.
• Blessing (Ohio, USA): mother of one for six years after repeated losses (a baby died in the womb in March 2018, following a prophecy that she would die). A three-day fast Pastor Jerry gave, and later his words "that time is enough" and "you are getting pregnant": a son, then a daughter. Mother of one to mother of three in three years. Her son's compulsive hand-biting stopped after "shake it off" at the NSPPD UK conference.
• Tonto: salvation and revival on NSPPD; a "demonic anger" replaced by peace at 40; smoking since age 13 (27 years), heavy drinking (two large vodka bottles a day), and masturbation broken; a 20-year chronic backache healed while she lay on the floor at the NSPPD Ghana prayer conference; freed from altars she did not belong to and a spirit spouse. Now in discipleship class; the Holy Spirit called her "the Esther of this generation". At her request Pastor Jerry and the congregation laid hands (stretched hands) on her.
• Tina (name uncertain): led to Streams of Joy after a dream; jobless, she "danced so hard" on the last day of the January fast and got a job in February. Fell on the road with a car approaching and got up in strength (the daily prayer against untimely death). Resigned, then was the only candidate hired in a new job after claiming the email and job declarations. A breast surgery site painful for three years is pain-free.
• Ola Ki (name uncertain): something "horrendous" came out of her mouth after a Shake It Off Monday prayer and dream; addictions since 2011 (Coca-Cola, Panadol, codeine, marijuana, Rohypnol, pornography, masturbation) broken; began praying in tongues during a week of settlement in November 2024. Moved to Abuja in 2021 and lost her mother two days after her first job; now in the singles choir and a teens coach.
• Returning testifier (assistant director, 12 years in her organisation): delivered a lecture to the National Defence College Nigeria on "Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies and national defence and national security in Nigeria". She and her husband have built a duplex in Umuahia (caption "Umaya"), a house for her parents and a fourth house in Abuja. Marriage restored after a five-day fast; the new house in her husband's town is being dedicated this December.
• Blessing Joseph (Streams of Joy security unit): fluid in both ovaries, then a growth becoming a large tumour on the right ovary. She volunteered at the Lagos conference; surgery booked for 23 June, and in theatre the surgeons found nothing. Later pneumonia with fluid in the lungs; on a Thursday service (25 September) Pastor Jerry prayed against pneumonia and fluid in the lungs; the X-ray was clear.
• Nigerian Law School class of 1993: 32 years of practice; a justice of the Supreme Court, close to 10 Court of Appeal judges, High Court judges, ministers, senators, governors and a royal highness among them. A newly elected chairman, who had missed a flight via Doha and prayed "Oh Lord, show me mercy", and a member whose flight was held for an hour, testified. They gave a class thanksgiving seed.
• Pastor Jerry's own: knelt and wept in the aisle on his first flight to London and again on his first train; his team's car escaped a brake-failed fuel tanker near Port Harcourt (his staff member George driving); in February, returning from the NSPPD Lagos conference, a pilot on the ground told him staff had put their hands on their heads expecting a crash. He noted the head of the NCAA was in the room and that the aircraft has not flown since.

Words of knowledge / healing declarations

• The miracle of suddenly between 16 and 31 December; marital grace, "everything will happen at the same time".

1. Thanksgiving is intentional. If you do not deliberately look back over the year, you will never be thankful; it "could have been worse", and the Lord did not hand you over to your enemies.
2. The highest thanksgiving honours the Giver above the gift: thanking him when the gift has not yet come. Jesus gave thanks over five loaves before the multiplication.
3. When the calculation does not make sense, switch to thanksgiving. He knows what he will do; you know how it ends.
4. Wholeness is on the other side of the thank-you. The leper came back before the process was complete, and that return made him whole.
5. Never get used to God's goodness, protection, near misses, surgeries survived and family preserved. The nine got used to Jesus; the stranger did not.
6. Thank God for the people he sends, even imperfect ones, and for small blessings that kept you going. Not every kindness has a hidden motive; you have entered a season of favour with nothing attached.
7. The thanksgiving killers: comparison ("you are not my benchmark"), not knowing your inheritance, losing sight of who you are in Christ, bitterness at others' blessing ("your blessing cannot block my own"), staying outside the house, and fixation on anyone's forgiven past.
8. Your identity in Christ is itself a reason for thanksgiving: righteous, filled with the Spirit, attended by angels, steps ordered by the Lord.
9. God is the God of suddenly: he does not warm up, he breaks in, and needs no one's permission to bless you. 2025 will end in praise.
10. Sexual sin is spiritual, not only physical; spirits transfer through intimacy and can open doors in a bloodline. Have nothing to do with the works of darkness now that you know.
