FINISHING POWERFULLY [PART 2]

The evening opened with worship ("Who is like You, Lord?", "My God is good", "I won't be quiet", "Holy forever", "You are exalted") and a long prayer session on the theme of finishing 2025 powerfully. The prayer leader called on the "God of the 11th hour" to show forth in business, career, marriage and the work of the hands, the way He showed up at the wedding in Cana so that it "ended powerfully". The congregation was told to frame the end of the year by faith: "Today, through faith, I frame the end of my year with glory... It will end in praise. It will end in glory. It will end in celebration."

The fire prayers pushed against every "Herodias behind the scene" that turns a good start into a painful end, as happened to John the Baptist. The church declared "I take it back" over lost opportunities, closed doors and stolen crowns ("I may have missed it in January, March, July, but it will not end that way"), claimed the finisher's anointing, declared that their names are on the list of those remembered and settled in November, and "crossed over" to the other side of joy with their whole families, not one left behind, as Israel crossed Jordan. They also cast out every "Jonah" that must leave a life for it to finish gloriously, and declared: "November, it is already raining."

The word came from John 6:1-14, the feeding of the five thousand, built on one phrase: "He himself knew what He would do." Using two volunteers, the preacher contrasted praying like Philip ("we have nothing, feed us") with praying from knowledge ("we know You are about to do another miracle; our sufficiency is in You"). Knowledge changes prayer posture: those who know how it ends laugh in the storm, sing before the battle, and say with Job and the three Hebrew boys "but if not". Knowledge comes from letting the word of Christ dwell richly in you, and too many believers do not know because their Bible is closed.

Three further lessons followed. First, Jesus needed someone who "looked like" what He wanted to do: among the whole multitude only a lad with five loaves qualified, so the church must speak, pray and declare like what God intends to do before the end of November. Second, twelve baskets of bread remained but no fish, because only bread was on the original agenda: "that it is working does not mean there's a divine signature", so part of finishing well is to uproot whatever is working but lacks God's finger (the preacher's examples: dating ten people, breaking homes). Third, the real question was never "where shall we buy bread?" but "who?", and the journey runs "nothing" (Philip) to "not enough" (Andrew) to "overflow" (Jesus). The overflow began with thanksgiving, and the loaves multiplied not in Jesus' hands but in the hands of the disciples He gave them to, so surround yourself with multipliers, not diminishers.

The service closed with the offering, announcements for the Furnace of Answers grand finale the next morning and Sunday's "God of the 11th Hour" service, and a declaration from Psalm 91: "I announce you have finished powerfully."

• At the close: "Before today becomes tomorrow, there will be a shout of joy in your father's house."

1. How the year ends is being decided now. By faith and by the word in your mouth you frame the end of 2025; it will end in praise, glory and celebration, not the way the devil planned.
2. Jesus knew what He would do. God is never at a loss; the problem is that we do not know what He knows, so we speak a different reality from His.
3. Knowledge changes prayer posture. Philip prayed from lack; Jesus prayed from sufficiency. Those who know laugh in storms, sing before the battle and say "but if not". That knowing comes only from the word dwelling richly in you, so a closed Bible leaves you praying in fear.
4. God needs someone who looks like what He wants to do. In a whole multitude only the lad with loaves qualified. Dressing or speaking like your miracle is not magic; it changes your mindset until you believe what God is about to do.
5. Not everything that works carries God's signature. Bread was the agenda, so twelve baskets of bread remained and no fish. As the year closes, audit what is "working" that God never authored, and let it go.
6. Ask "who", not "where". The answer to "where shall we buy bread?" was a lad; often the answer God has placed is inside you ("out of your belly shall flow rivers").
7. Nothing, not enough, overflow. What was not enough became overflow once it passed through thanksgiving into Jesus' hands.
8. Multiplication happens in the right hands. The loaves multiplied in the disciples' hands, not in Jesus'. Stay near multipliers who enlarge your confidence and capacity, not diminishers. "If they don't see you, don't see them", without quarrelling.
9. Live like you are wired for a multitude, even before you have what it takes to feed one.

• Frame the end of your year with your mouth: "It will end in praise, glory and celebration." Declare "2025 became my best year so far."
• Pray "I take it back" over lost opportunities, closed doors and crowns, and claim the finisher's anointing: "I will finish powerfully."
• Call your own name and your family members' names into the list of those remembered and settled in November; cross over with every family member.
• Pray from God's sufficiency, not from lack, for the rest of the year. Open your Bible and study the word so you know what God knows.
• Speak, pray, declare and even dress like what God wants to do; tell your neighbor what your future looks like.
• Pray: "Whatsoever is working in my life that does not have Your finger, let it be uprooted."
• Switch to thanksgiving instead of complaining about how the year is going.
• Watch who holds your "loaves"; draw near to multipliers and stop focusing on people who do not value you.
• Give your offering, tithe and partnership; support the church building project.
