FINISHING POWERFULLY [PART 1]

This Thursday evening Word & Fire service opened the "Finishing Powerfully" series, set in the week of the November special new month prophetic prayers. After worship ("From the rising of the sun", "Yahweh, where would I be if not for you", "All the glory belongs to you", "He lifts me up"), Pastor Jerry called the house into thanksgiving for November, "the month where the best things are going to be happening", and asked God to show up as the God of the eleventh hour, to finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, to let His hand rest on them as on Elijah for the speed of a finisher, and to release the latter rain.

The fire prayers were built around finishing strong and finishing well. He had the church renounce any weakness in themselves that would abort a glorious finish ("How did you begin in the Spirit and you are ending in the flesh?"), then carried over the morning's NSPPD prayer as the cry of the night: "November to December, my wine did not finish." From there he thundered against demonic quietness at celebrations, commanded arise, pursue, overtake, recover all, declared "I will not end a loser, I will not end with losses", fired at every ordinance that says the year will end in tears, shame or obituary, and proclaimed that the hand of Arroi that carried them from January will carry them to the end. The prayer ended in a long stretch of prophetic release: acceleration, open doors, "suddenly is the name of your miracle", "the year ended with joy".

The word came from John 2:1-11, the wedding at Cana. He said he is intrigued by the intentionality of Jesus to make sure that marriage ended well, and that "it is an error for Jesus to be invited to my party" and for it to end in shame. He promised instructions on how to end powerfully and walked through them: if you do not have wine, make sure you have water, because Jesus did not make wine out of nothing, He needed the water (the word and the Holy Ghost); let the water within be your automatic way of being; hold on to your water through year-end anxiety; review your relationship circle, because the wedding was saved by a connector (Mary) and by capacity (Jesus); obedience after intercession, "whatsoever he saith unto you, do it", was the key that unlocked the miracle, so listen for instructions after you pray; the good wine came at the end of their party, yet for Jesus it was "this beginning of miracles", so what happened late this year is only the beginning; and Jesus changed the content, not the container.

That last point carried the close. Wine was normally kept in wineskins, but Jesus used stone water pots, the ones used for washing dusty feet, and left the vessel as it was. God is looking for those who "don't look the part", like David when everyone expected another Saul and looked at Eliab. Using a busy Lagos amala joint as an illustration, he said people overlook the container when the content is real. His charge: "You are enough." Ask God to empty out wrong content such as bitterness and fill you with what will "release wine onto my generation."

Words of knowledge came during the prophetic release (a dislocated shoulder, a growth in the scrotal sac, a child in respiratory distress, evidence within 48 hours). The service closed with offerings, tithes and partnership as a wave offering, announcements for Glory Friday, Sunday and the December anniversary, and a Psalm 91 confession.

• "The Lord said I should ask you: why are you afraid? Did I bring you to leave you on the way?" Within the next 48 hours the Lord will give you evidence that He has taken over the matter.

1. Jesus is intentional about your ending. He did not let the Cana wedding end in shame, and it is an error for Him to be at your party and for it to end in mockery. "I will not call upon your name and end up in shame."
2. You may not have wine yet, but you must have water. God did not make wine out of nothing; He needed water. Water is the word and the Holy Ghost, and it is the raw material He turns into healing, a baby, favour, access, immigration settlement or harvest. The devil wants you to throw away your water while you look for your wine.
3. The spirit realm abhors a vacuum. Keep speaking and declaring the word over your water while others show you their wine.
4. The water within should be your automatic way of being: whatever happens, your first recourse is the word and fellowship with the Holy Ghost.
5. Relationships decide endings. You need people who speak for you (Mary, the connector) and people with capacity (Jesus). People who wish you well without the capacity to make it happen leave the circle incomplete. God is sending both kinds in the remaining days of the year.
6. Who you become through a person matters more than what they give: fear and lust can grow in you through who is constantly in your ear.
7. Obedience unlocked the miracle. Between "what is that to me" and "my hour has not yet come", what connected heaven to the servants was "whatsoever he saith unto you, do it." Many believers know how to pray but not how to listen; part of the answer is the instruction that follows prayer, sometimes ridiculous, sometimes an old instruction you did not obey.
8. What came at the end of their party was the beginning of His miracles. The favour seen late in this year is only the beginning; many more will happen this year.
9. God changed the content, not the container. He uses stone water pots, not wineskins; people who do not look the part, lack the degree or the reputation, and whose past others know. The treasure is in earthen vessels so that the excellency is of God.
10. You are enough. You do not need to be as tall as them or learn a fake accent. What disappoints a generation is a polished container with no content; what shocks it is an overlooked container that shows up with wine.

• Be intentional in prayer: "If you don't mean it, don't say it."
• Pray: "November to December, my wine did not finish"; "I will not end a loser, I will not end with losses"; "I must finish well, I must finish strong."
• Renounce anything in you that would abort your finish, and ask God to take it away.
• Arise, pursue, overtake and recover all that was lost this year; command increase over your family.
• Carry your water while you wait for your wine: stay in the word and in fellowship with the Holy Ghost, and do not neglect them while you wait.
• Review your relationship circle before the year ends: who they are, what they added, who you became by knowing them, what they did to your heart toward God.
• When you finish praying, listen for instructions and obey them, including in the still small voice.
• Ask God to empty you of wrong content such as bitterness and fill you with the right content.
• Declare to your neighbour: "I've got water", "This is just the beginning", "I am enough", "Content, not container", "I finished the year powerfully."
• Give offerings, tithes and partnership.
