SILENCING THE RAGING STORM

SILENCING THE RAGING STORM || SUNDAY SERVICE || 10TH AUGUST 2025

Storms will come, but you are a storm silencer: rebuke the wind at its source, keep your eyes and your faith on the One in the boat, and declare that the ship may scatter but "I will get there".

Auto-generated YouTube captions (en-orig) of the whole Sunday live at Streams of Joy Abuja, about 8 hours 12 minutes covering all four services. Names and some numbers are reconstructed from ASR and marked where uncertain.

Summary

This was the full Sunday at Streams of Joy Abuja: four services (7:00, 8:30, 10:15 and 11:45 a.m.) under the theme "Silencing the Raging Storm". Each service opened with worship and a set of declarations "into the week" (Monday to Saturday), then a prayer surge against storms ("Every storm that says Jerry will end here: fire"), with the call to the altar for anyone who felt "there's a raging storm that must be silenced", because "if nothing is done it will become obituary". Pastor Jerry preached a different storm passage in each service: Acts 27 (Paul's shipwreck), Matthew 14 (Peter walking on the sea), Mark 4 (Jesus asleep in the boat) and Jonah 1 (Jonah asleep in the ship). He repeated one frame in every service: "everyone on this side of eternity is either leaving a storm, entering a storm, or in a storm", and storms are God's "dumbbells" to build spiritual capacity. What he fights is the storm that overstays and becomes a stronghold.

The first service (Acts 27) taught that before a storm there is always a voice, that some people "walk into your life with storms" (Jonah in the boat, Jehoshaphat joined to Ahab), and that a storm grows where there is no light ("neither sun nor stars appeared"). His key line was Paul's: the ship may scatter, "but we will get there", which became the week's WhatsApp prayer theme, "I will get there. The Lord says so." The second service (Matthew 14) was about faith: "the unit of faith is belief, the medium of faith is your senses", and Peter's error was "if it be thou", asking for proof. "Don't struggle to have faith. Know him and faith will flow." Peter "was not walking on water, he was walking on the storm"; the deeper prayer is "Lord, calm me that I may walk in the storm."

The third service (Mark 4) drew the line between what arose (the wind) and what entered the ship (the waves): Jesus rebuked the wind, not the waves, so deal with the root and ask "Where is it coming from?" Fear and faith cannot meet; "fear is the currency that buys negativity". Sleeping in the storm means "I'm not aware" of the devil's report, and refusing a "perish mentality". The congregation shouted "Stop!" seven times at the wind. The fourth service (Jonah 1) set Jesus' sleep (rest that flows from faith) against Jonah's (ignorance), warned against storms we create through people "carrying a presence that is not God's", and ended on the sailors' cry to Jonah: "O sleeper, arise, call upon thy God. Pray now or regret later."

Words of knowledge ran through every service (incontinence, brain tumour, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, three delayed marriages by September, a two-year pattern of death, a stalled life since 2018, skin cancer and more). Testimonies were heard in the second, third and fourth services: a car crash survived without a scratch, Canadian PR after six years, a woman resuscitated after an hour, a cousin's haemorrhage stopped after a word on the altar, a wife revived after collapse, 20+ years of haemorrhoids healed, a husband's $40,000 tuition waived, a Liberian grandmother's back-to-back miracles, and 25 years of smoking broken. Each service took a named communion and announced Furnace of Answers on the altar from tomorrow, Monday 11 August. The day's cry: "Every storm has been silenced", and the identity he gave the house: "My name is ... I am a storm silencer."

  • Service 3: Monday no storm will swallow me, anchored on the rock; Tuesday the Lion of Judah roars louder, "I shall not be moved"; Wednesday storms of sickness and infirmity silenced, perfect health; Thursday secret place, covered with his feathers; Friday like Daniel, every lion's mouth shut, I emerge with promotion; Saturday the storm at the gate of my next level silenced, I leap over walls.

  • Each service also took the 2025 declaration ("Nothing goes wrong around me ... I have seen the God that sees me. El Roi").

Testimonies played / recapped

Names are as the captions render them and may be misspelt.

Second service

  • Sister (introduced as "Angel ..."): house-hunting after a rent increase; on 3 July 2025 a car rammed hers, airbags deployed and the car was badly damaged, but she came out without a scratch (she lost her mother last year and cried "it cannot happen again").
  • A mother (family relocating to Canada): applied for Canadian PR in 2019, no reply for years. Joined Streams of Joy in September 2024, became members in October; the pastor asked them for three months. On 5 December 2024 the embassy emailed after about seven months of silence; during the January fast they set 31 January as the date for their evidence. In mid-January they submitted passports and were told at least four weeks; on 31 January, after NSPPD morning prayers, the visa office called: visas ready, collect in Abuja. Her study leave was also approved on 31 July 2025, the only one in her office.
  • Mama Zainab ("Zanab"), an early member of the church: (1) sister-in-law and her children survived a car crash on Tuesday with the car totalled; (2) career "global visibility", access to captains of industry; (3) healed of a diagnosed "unregulated hyper-empathy" that made her give away her salary and property compulsively; she can now say no; (4) after hearing a testimony about Monday fasting, she woke the next day with left-arm pain and chest tightness, suspected heart attack, BP about 160/90. She was given 400 mg of a BP drug instead of 40 mg, collapsed at the ECG, cried "Arroi, save me", had an out-of-body experience, and was "gone for over an hour" before being resuscitated. "The evil day came, and God saved me."

Third service

  • Junior, for a cousin: delivered by caesarean section in March, bleeding from May for over a month with daily transfusions; a scan showed retained products. During Oh Lord Show Me Mercy (9 July) the bleeding worsened; on Monday 14 July at about 7:21 a word of knowledge said "your loved one has been taking pints of blood daily, internal bleeding". On Tuesday a thick clot and the retained products came out; the planned surgery was not needed and she is well.
  • The brother of "the cut finger that grew back" (a returning testifier): on 30 July 2025 his wife, who had only been taking malaria medicine, collapsed at home, lifeless and not breathing, and was carried to the hospital where they do evangelism. He recognised the pattern of his mother's death, lay on the hospital floor and declared "this body will not be broken". Within about ten minutes she came back. A neighbour had died weeks earlier of the same attack; his wife said she had been with her late mother during the episode.
  • Evangelist Dr Gloria ("Eala", spelling uncertain), USA: joined NSPPD on 12 December 2020 through a pastor friend in Atlanta. Over 20 years of bleeding haemorrhoids since 1997, two banding procedures, surgery advised; by June/July 2021 the bleeding stopped completely, no surgery. She travelled to Abuja to testify in person.
  • Roda (Rhoda): (1) her father, an associate professor, applied for promotion to professor around 2019/2020, approved in 2022 but never confirmed. She sent a birthday prayer request on Tuesday; on Wednesday the email came, backdated to 2022. (2) Her husband, a software engineer, lost his US remote work and went back to his father's house. A friend paid his application fee to a US university; he left with about $350 for a $40,000 tuition. A word on the altar, "He did not bring you this far to abandon you"; wearing his NSPPD shirt, mantle and olive oil, he met a professor who had found funding: graduate assistantships with a full tuition waiver. Court wedding in December. A month before graduation one missing credit course threatened his degree; during the 14-day media fast the pastor said "your case will be an exemption" and the course was waived. He graduated on Friday with distinction, with a job waiting.
  • Josephine K. Barclay (caption "Joseph K. Barkley"), Liberia: her daughter-in-law had a baby boy in 2024 after seven years. Her grant for the sanitary pads she makes and gives to girls in local communities failed three times, then was approved during the pastor's August birthday prayers ("you are the preferred candidate"). Her daughter, removed as assistant director, was made a full-time director after the February fast ("you are the chosen one"). Her daughter paid for her birthday trip to Abuja: "Every year my birthday I will celebrate in Abuja."

Fourth service

  • Sister (introduced as "Monday Diana" / "Rose", uncertain): her mother was healed of long-standing fibroid and ulcer; she was freed from constant thoughts and fear of death. She wrote down the job she wanted; after a January interview with no call, on Sunday 9 February she stood when the pastor said "ask God for something" and found the job email when she got home, with better pay and less stress than she wrote.
  • Kira, UAE: joined in 2021; a week after the pastor's birthday a LinkedIn contact gave her a teaching job without a licence or experience, on contract. After the pastor's "permanent appointment" declaration she got a permanent post at GEMS Education (caption "James Education") with a UAE teaching licence and full package: flights, children's school fees and housing allowance.
  • Bright: invited by Sister Elizabeth three months ago. Smoked daily from 2000, 25 years, and stopped after hearing another addiction testimony and praying on the altar. A real estate consultant with "near success syndrome" and oppressive dreams; after last Sunday's prayer on breaking evil patterns, HR of the company he had interviewed with called him. On Wednesday during the mercy prayer the offer letter came, to resume on 11 August 2025 (tomorrow).

Words of knowledge / healing declarations

  • First service: restricted blood flow to the brain reversed; something "of the bone marrow" reversed (caption fragment); failure at the edge of breakthrough; an affliction affecting more than one family member; cancer; fibroid that returns after operation reversed; an immigration process completed; voices of obituary, autism and "den" (possibly debt) silenced. "Something good will happen this week ... compensation ... boundary lines of favour"; "your name will come up in a place of honour this week and no voice will shut it down"; "before 1:00 p.m. Nigerian time tomorrow".
  • Second service: urinary and faecal incontinence reversed; brain tumour uprooted; non-Hodgkin lymphoma broken; "that decision is going to come out this week and it will be in your favour"; three sisters whose marriages have been delayed will marry between August and September; nobody will turn your helper's heart; your harvest will not go to another; a skin rash "that looks like chicken pox" reversed; "a pattern of death every two years in your family is broken ... nobody will die this time"; anything belonging to you held at a wicked altar broken; voices of cancer, autism and addiction silenced.
  • Third service: acid reflux reversed; genotypes changing; intestinal obstruction reversed; "you will not lose one of your siblings ... before Thursday morning you will understand this prayer"; "they will sign it this week"; "you have the position but not the evidence: receive the evidence"; "another mega deal, another mega open door before September"; "you will not enter 31 December without your spouse"; "you will shout for joy by tomorrow morning; the door you have been knocking on has opened".
  • Fourth service: no feeling on the left side of the face for a long time, reversed; someone who scratches palms and soles with sharp objects; someone who sees in dreams a grandfather they never met (described so accurately the father confirmed it), with oppression whenever good news is near; favourers who hate you for no reason; whatever happened in 2018 that stalled your life broken; anything transferred by laying on of hands that limited you broken; skin cancer removed. Closing: "From now to the next 3 months, God will make a name for himself"; "this is the week of that major email".

Important message

  1. Everyone is leaving, entering, or inside a storm. If the storm did not spare Jesus, it will not spare you. Storms are God's gym: they build "six packs in the spirit". What must be fought is the storm that overstays and becomes a stronghold, often reinforced by our own negative confession.
  2. Before a storm there is always a voice. The devil cannot take you by surprise if you heed God's instructions. Paul warned before the voyage; some storms are spared by staying away from a person or route God has warned about.
  3. People carry storms. Jonah brought a storm into the ship; Jehoshaphat nearly died for Ahab's battle. Who you connect with (relationships, sex, partners) can import cycles into your bloodline. Ask whose presence someone carries and whether they are moving in God's direction.
  4. No light breeds storms. You are light and every word God gives is light; let the word, not the storm, feed you.
  5. The ship may scatter, but we will get there. Helpers, plans and finances may fail; God sometimes scatters a ship so the ship does not take the glory. "If he is whose you are, let him be whom you serve." Your family is in your hands: "You belong to the generation that silences the storm. Don't let the storm silence you."
  6. Faith flows from knowing him. The unit of faith is belief; its medium is what you see and hear, so arrange your environment to speak faith. Peter's "if it be thou" demanded proof; God does not need one situation to prove who he is.
  7. Walk in the storm, keep your signal. Peter walked on the storm, not on calm water; the deeper prayer is "Lord, calm me to walk in the storm". The biggest storm God silences is the one inside (fear, anxiety, anger), because that is the devil's access point.
  8. Rebuke the wind, not the waves. Deal with the source: "Where is it coming from?" Don't take paracetamol for a tumour's headache; find the archer, not the arrow.
  9. Fear and faith cannot share a boat. Fear is the currency that buys negativity; faith buys what God promised. Sleep in the storm like Jesus ("I'm not aware" of the devil's report) and refuse a perish mentality: "in this kingdom we don't die".
  10. There is no neutral ground: silence the storm or it silences you. What you stop, your children will not experience; what you tolerate is handed to them. Go beyond breaking curses to installing patterns of grace and favour.
  11. Don't sleep through warfare like Jonah. Jesus' rest came from faith; Jonah's sleep was ignorance. When storms have taken lives in your bloodline, pray for your generation like David's mother and Epaphras: "Pray now or regret later."

What he asks of us

  • Lift your hand and unsay every negative word that reinforced a storm.
  • Come to the altar (or place your hand on your device online) if a raging storm must be silenced.
  • In the offering, name two storms that will never arise again in your family; give as a seed and wave offering.
  • Take each service's communion.

  • Check your connections: whose presence they carry, where they are going.
  • Feed on the word in the storm; keep your prayer signal; do not sleep through warfare.
  • Step out on Monday prophetically, speaking in tongues: "I step on sickness, delay, pattern ... under my feet."
