MID-YEAR THANKSGIVING SERVICE

MID-YEAR THANKSGIVING SERVICE || SUNDAY || 13TH JULY 2025

Thanksgiving is my faith journey: I thank him at midnight, with chains on and with too little in my hands, because what he has spoken is already done and my rain has come.

Auto-generated YouTube captions (en-orig) of the whole Sunday live, about 8.5 hours covering all four Streams of Joy Abuja services. Names, numbers and some scripture wording are reconstructed from ASR text.

Summary

This was the mid-year thanksgiving Sunday at Streams of Joy Abuja, the last day (day 14) of the 14-day mid-year fast, which closes with a grand finale at 5:30 p.m. the same evening. The stream carries four full services. Each one opens with worship, a set of prophetic declarations over the week (Monday to Saturday) and the church's 2025 confession ("Nothing goes wrong around me... I have seen the God that sees me"), then testimonies, a fresh set of "31 declarations" from Pastor Jerry, a short thanksgiving message from a different passage, a thanksgiving seed, and the same announcements.

The through-line is that thanksgiving is not a reaction to results but a posture of faith and love. In the first service (Luke 17, the ten lepers) he teaches that "thanksgiving is a faith journey": the one leper came back before the priest had confirmed anything, and while the askers "stood afar off", the thanker ended "at his feet". He warns against getting used to God, and tells how an interviewer in NSPPD's second year gave it three to five years, yet NSPPD has just hit its highest numbers across all platforms, and this week the first lady of a Muslim country visited and kept speaking of Jesus. In the second service (Luke 7:36-50, the woman with the alabaster box, his "bad girl" of Scripture) the point is that thanksgiving is not only what you give but how you live, that it is offered even from "behind" when Jesus has not yet turned to you, and that "thanksgiving is a product of love": Jesus asked which debtor would love him most, not thank him most. He tells of giving away his only, brand new car to a pastor's widow around 2014 when the Spirit asked him to. In the third service (Acts 16, Paul and Silas) midnight is "transition time", the hour night becomes morning; perspective decides whether you see darkness or transition; the enemy bound their hands and feet but left their mouths, so "something is remaining"; the prisoners heard them, so thanksgiving "goes far", as far as the power of God reaches. In the fourth service (John 6:1-14, five loaves and two fishes) he lists when to switch into thanksgiving mode: when the calculations do not add up, when it is not enough, when it is beyond your control, and when an unexpected "fish" problem joins the "bread" problem; Jesus gave thanks from what was already done in the spirit, and "your answer came with a rhema word, not with a reality".

Each service carries a long run of declarations: "July to December you will not fall sick", "no obituary", "receive speed on every side", "early congratulations", "your name is already on the list", "it has ended in praise". The first service also has a prayer surge ("I am out!") with words of knowledge on 19 miscarriages, heart and kidney failure in one family, retinal detachment and eye conditions.

Testimonies are many and large: a mother's diabetic foot wound sealed without skin grafting; a glass fragment that had sat in a Ghanaian woman's hand for 38 years dropped out, and her son, tormented through medical school, is now a doctor; a mother who collapsed lifeless on 4 July came back to life while "Oh Lord, Show Me Mercy" played in her ear; an MFA admission in the US with a full tuition waiver and a paid assistantship; a contractor in debt "in hundreds of millions" cleared it with one purchase order; a 48-year-old single mother married after a 20-year marital siege in her family; two people free of years of smoking and drug addiction; and a UK businesswoman with a run of contracts, admissions and jobs.

The cry of the day, in his words: "Thanksgiving is my faith journey." Each service closes with Psalm 91:1-2 and the charge to walk up to 14 people (31 in one service) and shout hallelujah.

Testimonies played / recapped

Second service (introduced in captions as "Apostle Oluchi ..., Dana Freeman, Mary's Jonathan, ... Eugene"; spellings uncertain)

  • Oluchi: her father and an aunt died of diabetic leg wounds (the aunt on 4 January this year). Her mother got a diabetic blister, then an open wound; doctors wanted skin grafting. At the NSPPD Nigeria prayer conference she lay on the floor with photos of the leg while Pastor Jerry declared "open wound, seal up". Her mother refused grafting, poured communion on the wound and wrapped it in the mantle; after six months indoors the wound sealed perfectly, with no amputation. Second testimony: her ministry programmes now run with no begging letters; "98%" of what Pastor Jerry told her has come to pass, and her diary is booked into 2026.
  • Woman from Accra, Ghana: a family accident 38 years ago left a glass fragment in the back of her hand. During the Lagos conference, when Pastor Jerry said "whatever is not of God, shake it off", she shook; the next day the glass dropped out. Her son Melvin, a church boy in Ghana medical school, suddenly became disoriented in fourth year (September 2022); she sat outside the hospital with him daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and held on to altar words such as "if you do not have faith, my faith is enough for you". He failed a final paper once, but today he is a medical doctor.
  • Testifier from Delta State ("Digital State" in captions), for her mother: on 4 July, the start of the fast, her mother collapsed on the couch, eyes rolled, hands cold, a neighbour "nodding" that she was gone. She had "Oh Lord, Show Me Mercy" played into her mother's ear and shouted "Elroi!" and "I will not bury and I will not be buried". Her mother began saying "amen"; she poured in communion and within 5-10 minutes her mother regained strength, with no hospital. That day Pastor Jerry declared "they came too late, no space".
  • Eugene, Anambra State: gave his life to Christ on this altar in August 2024. "Fire-emailed" a US university until a professor replied; his converted CGPA was 2.4 against a 3.0 requirement; passed a Duolingo English test (130/160). On 25 March, the day before his birthday (26 March), he got admission to an MFA in Theatre with a full tuition waiver (about $44,000), health insurance waived and an assistantship paying $27,000 a year. Altar word he held: "You may not merit it, but your name is on that list."

Third service (introduced as "Isaac, Abraham, Steven ..., Michelle and Antonia Emodi"; spellings uncertain)

  • Isaac: his late father (died 2019) was a US citizen. Documents from the 1980s were missing. After praying at NSPPD in January, he heard Pastor Jerry on 29 January declare "in the next 48 hours God will show you his mercy"; on Thursday 30 January at 3 p.m. an email said his and his siblings' case was resolved, though the documents were incomplete.
  • Abraham, motion designer, second week at Streams of Joy: during the midweek midday fast, after sowing his last seed, he got a project worth "almost seven figures", approved as "the best work we have ever received". A paid portfolio platform (Behance) that never brought work gave him a logo job for thousands of dollars with 75% upfront, confirmed by email during the morning sermon.
  • Engineer Steven (birthday today): on 16 March, a date Pastor Jerry had prayed against "bitter tears", his asthmatic son Samuel collapsed unconscious; they blasted "Oh Lord, Show Me Mercy" and he spoke 90 minutes later and was discharged the same day. After a 9 July 2023 declaration ("speak to them like it is Jesus Christ commanding them") he won a contract, then lost it after failing to testify. A Netherlands partner's bankruptcy left him in debt "in hundreds of millions"; he sold cars and paid two years' rent ahead. A 19 November declaration on favour was followed by a call from one of Nigeria's largest IOCs for a 30-gas-well job. He set his own terms (50% upfront), added the debt to the tender, received the purchase order within 24 hours, cleared all debt, bought his own house and equipment.
  • Michelle: her graduation from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka was held up for almost a year, then approved. In Lagos a spreading skin condition with swollen legs and migraines followed, misdiagnosed many times; a dermatologist named an autoimmune disease (captions: "lichen planus"). She fasted for the first time, all 21 days of the new year fast, under declarations of "autoimmune disease reversed". The skin is clearing, only scars remain, and she can walk and go out again.
  • 48-year-old single mother: no marriage in her family for 20 years; three of six siblings unmarried; engagements kept breaking. On NSPPD since 2021. After a birthday prayer in April 2024 ("even a widower or a divorcee"), a friend of 20 years, never married and living abroad, reconnected. Traditional wedding 28 December 2024, civil wedding June 2025; he is adopting her daughter and they are relocating abroad. "I have come like that one leper."

Fourth service (introduced as "Innocent ..., Honor May, Anthony, Catherine, Pleasant and Madam Ewa"; spellings uncertain)

  • Innocent, Temple Keeping unit: second career testimony on the altar (first in July 2023). During the throne room verdicts week he put his "against" list under his feet and danced 15 minutes nightly; on the Wednesday "Oh Lord, Show Me Mercy" ("your name is on that list") he got an offer at the figure he had named to put them off, paid in foreign currency, not naira.
  • Woman with a kidney stone: pain in the left kidney, diagnosed 22 March. On 6 May Pastor Jerry declared "every kidney stone, be reversed" and the pain left. A scan at the same lab on 4 July found both kidneys "perfectly okay".
  • Anthony, Anambra State: smoking since 16, 20 years of addiction, later a dealer abroad. He came home, followed his sister to the 7 a.m. altar, and wrote "spirit of addiction" first on his seven-things list. He has not smoked for about five months and two weeks, with no therapy. He decided to testify this morning after the first service.
  • Divorced mother of two: smoked and took "molly" from 2019 after her marriage ended, hiding it in hotels; known for her anger. Her daughter heard Pastor Jerry crying "show mercy" on a link she had refused; she stopped all drugs from June 2024. A 28 May declaration on anger broke that too. On the night of 19 June she was attacked in her sleep; her son prayed "she will not be buried and we will not be buried" and she recovered for her birthday.
  • Testifier from a Jehovah's Witness family: after a 2019 accident and eight months in an orthopaedic hospital, her open wound closed within two weeks of joining NSPPD in 2020. Her family treated her as an apostate. Her sister and brother-in-law left the Jehovah's Witnesses, then this fast joined NSPPD with their children; the husband began speaking in tongues.
  • Ewa Adams, Ghanaian living in the UK (Northampton expression, leads the teens): her UK government housing contracts were frozen for about nine months amid riots tied to that work. She volunteered at the August 2024 UK conference; the Monday after, the Home Office reinstated the contracts. Her younger daughter got four A* grades and a Durham Law place but no accommodation; after a morning playing "Oh Lord, Show Me Mercy" around the college, the vice chancellor met them and gave a room free (worth about £12,000 a year). Her university sponsors her four-year PhD full time even after she resigned. Her older daughter (22) got an internship at "the biggest law firm in the UK", then a job (about £35,000), a sponsored LLM and a London flat. Widowed at 36, 14 years ago.

Words of knowledge / healing declarations

First service prayer surge:

  • 19 miscarriages: "it will not happen again", reversed.
  • In one family, heart failure and kidney failure: reversed; a family "covering" torn.
  • Migraine destroyed; a liver condition; retinal detachment ("red inner detachment" in captions) reversed; blind eyes opening; short- and long-sightedness reversed.
  • "Why are your financial doors rusty, full of cobwebs?" Let them open.
  • "They will send for you in one week"; "your children will make you glad in the second half of the year."

31 declarations (one set per service, samples)

  • First: opportunities, ideas and the gift of good men; answers earlier; another man will not reap your labour; no sorrow or obituary; "July to December you will not fall sick"; destiny connectors; garment of celebration.
  • Second: you will not get it and lose it again; help in 1, 24, 48 hours; "you are visible to your helpers"; the last bad news you heard is the last you will ever have; every landmark of pain and shame disappears.
  • Third: speed and divine direction; from doors to gates; "a thousand times better"; no obituary; "divine supernatural emergency" for your lifting; "early congratulations"; "it has ended in praise".
  • Fourth: your mind is not in bondage; it will not start and stop again; helpers waiting at every strategic season; "on the list of those that will be favoured, your name is already there"; all-round settlement; positive choices before September; a wind of forgetfulness on anyone who would hurt you.

Important message

  1. Thanksgiving is a faith journey. You thank him not for what you have seen but for who you believe him to be. The leper came back before the priest confirmed anything, and Jesus called it "your faith".
  2. Askers stay afar off; thankers come close. God inhabits praise. Thanksgiving forbids that the evidence God gives you takes you far from him.
  3. Never get used to God. The Samaritan, the "stranger", still held Jesus in awe. Pastor Jerry says he is still not used to a headache being healed on the altar, nor to millions coming every morning six years on.
  4. Thanksgiving is a product of love, not a transaction. "If you have a thanksgiving problem, you have a love problem." Give yourself, not only your gift; acknowledge the people God sends.
  5. Perspective defines thanksgiving. Midnight is transition, not darkness: "You call it darkness. I call it transition."
  6. Something is remaining. If the enemy left you your mouth, you can still pray, shout and thank, and that can loose every chain. Thanksgiving goes far.
  7. Prayer is the foundation of thanks. A rhema word received in prayer is what lets you thank with chains still on.
  8. Your prayers are already answered. Like Jesus over the loaves, thank from what is done in the spirit; the manifestation follows. Thanksgiving multiplies.
  9. Do not let your attitude spoil your thanksgiving. A mouth wired to give thanks will not curse or complain.
  10. The most critical season is right after the fast. The devil met Jesus after his fast; do not go on "sabbatical". The next days are positioning for manifestation, and the signs of the 14 days will begin to show this week.

What he asks of us

Today / this season

  • Live in thanks: thank God when the numbers do not add up, when it is not enough, for disappointments, for the intangibles (peace, self-control, who you are becoming).
  • Raise a thanksgiving seed as a wave offering.
  • Testify: anyone who has not testified to what God did from January to June is "delaying" their process. Pick up a testimony form.
  • Leave the "pity party gang"; do not listen to people who amplify your problem.
  • If you prayed the salvation prayer, email salvation@streamsofjoy.org.
  • Walk up to 14 people (31 in the second service) and shout hallelujah.

  • Attend the new Thursday 6 p.m. series "Understanding the Times and Seasons of Your Life"; discipleship class Monday 6 p.m.
