'TAKE OVER THE GATES' [POWER AND DOMINION] SERVICE
'TAKE OVER THE GATES' [POWER AND DOMINION] SERVICE || SUNDAY SERVICE || 11TH MAY 2025
Enforce God's presence, see what He has given and not the wall, refuse to beg at the gate, and shout until the walls fall, because "I am in charge, I'm taking over the gate" and the gates of hell will not prevail.
Auto-generated YouTube captions (en-orig) of the whole Sunday at Streams of Joy Abuja, about 7 hours 44 minutes. Four services back to back (first from the start, second from about 1:55, third from about 3:55, fourth from about 5:46), each with its own worship, weekly declarations, prayer, sermon, offering and announcements. Names, numbers and some scripture wording are reconstructed from ASR.
Summary
The theme of the day was "Take Over the Gates" in a Power and Dominion service. Pastor Jerry's frame: the world's systems, structures, policies, powers and principalities are "all summed up in gates". Life is gated, seasons are gated, transitions are gated, and "if you don't break the gate you will be stranded where you are." Each service opened with worship, a spoken declaration over every day of the coming week, and loud prayer against "demonic gatekeepers", gates of hell, ancestral covenants, wicked altars and "garments you should have outgrown". The cry of the day, shouted 21 times on the way back to the seats: "I am in charge. I'm taking over the gate."
He preached a different text in each service. First service (Joshua 5:13-6:20): Joshua stood "by Jericho", a pagan city whose wall was built on sacrifices, and the Captain of the Lord's host told him the ground was holy. The first password to taking over is to enforce the presence of God, as the ark did in the house of Dagon. Then God said "See, I have given into thine hand Jericho" while the wall still stood: selective seeing, "don't see what you are seeing, see what I am saying" (2 Corinthians 4:18). Finally the marching was silent except for the trumpets, the sound that says the season is changing. Second service (Luke 16:19-23): protocols of behaviour at the gate, drawn from Lazarus the beggar. Don't beg (he was full of sores because he was a beggar); don't make life about food; expect dogs to come; never show dogs your wounds; and watch who carries you, because the angels carried Lazarus to Abraham's bosom. Third service (Matthew 16:13-19): the gates of hell will rise but will not prevail. Deal with them through revelation, by breaking wrong foundations, by receiving the right key, and by binding and loosing. Never take a former evil lightly, and in prison do not sleep or lose your "garment", your identity. Fourth service (Luke 19:12-27): "Occupy till I come". To occupy is to fill a vacuum, so have a gain mindset, don't cover your gift, stop the fear, mind your communication, leverage systems, connect with high flyers, and remember you may be "one apology away from a bigger season".
Ministry and words of knowledge ran through every service: a young person with "old people's diseases", recurring right-sided paralysis, three lumps in a breast, diaphragm paralysis, three siblings who lost their jobs in one week, a first son who will not die, feet that feel like walking on pins, a threatened liver transplant, holes in the lungs, weakening eye muscles, a son missing for over a year to return in three days, recurring dreams of being sacrificed, and a family history of early blindness. He also released a "Lazarus, wake up" prayer and a "in three days it will be restored" word.
The testimonies were large: a realtor's two Lekki houses released by the same judge who had sealed them, after he planted stones from the church at the four corners; a temple keeper whose two foster children's genotype changed from SS to AA and who was then proposed to on a plane, married, honeymooned in Singapore and Malaysia, and was given a car as a wedding gift; a tricycle business grown from 30-something to over 50 after its owner began evangelism; a marital settlement within a month of meeting; a widow thanking God for carrying her through her first year; a family delivered from a physical knife attack and a father who nearly "walked out" in the night; and a London member whose delayed UK documents came through on the morning Pastor Jerry said "within 3 hours you will receive a call", after a second brand-new four-bedroom council house.
The second service included an altar call for salvation. Every service closed with offering as a wave offering ("see it"; in the third, a personal request while waving), the welcome of first-timers and new members, Psalm 91:1-2, and a charge to walk up to neighbours declaring "See", "I am in charge" or "The gates of hell will not prevail". In the last service he prayed over guests from outside Nigeria, among them a visitor from Dublin, and spoke of meeting them in Atlanta.

Testimonies played / recapped
- High Chief Kennedy (surname unclear in captions, "Akajak Ibukichi"), estate surveyor and valuer, Lagos. Partial stroke around 2019-2020. Bought two houses in Lekki worth over 50 million naira on an income of 5-6 million a year. A government agency later sealed them over the developer's unpaid loan, and the court case dragged on for years. On 29 August 2024 he came to Abuja crying, and a word of knowledge said "Rehoboth... all contention is over". At home during the 2 March 2025 first service ("March to your victory") he "swagged" and held the walls. That evening the court called the parties for the next day, 3 March, ahead of the 25 March date, and the judge who had sealed the houses said "congratulations, go and enjoy your houses". Second testimony: following a Kenyan mother's testimony, he took stones from the church and planted them at the four corners of the houses. He threw another at a contested property he was selling, and its owner later let his buyer purchase it.
- Sister Wel (temple keeper; captions "Mrs. Welt"). In 2009 she rescued a bank account package with children's passport photos from a waste bin and later opened that man's account. In 2023 the widowed client asked her, a single mother of five, to care for his three children, two of them SS. She brought their pictures to the altar ("genotypes are changing") and fed them communion. During a 1-2 am crisis a stranger was "at your gate", took them to a clinic and refused payment. On 31 December 2023 both genotypes changed from SS to AA. In March 2024 the client proposed to her over the aircraft speaker on a Lagos-Abuja flight. Traditional marriage and wedding on 21-22 February at Streams of Joy, honeymoon in Singapore and Malaysia, and "yesterday" a car as a wedding gift ("GS8" in captions).
- Osas (captions "Osas Mega Deborah"), second testimony at Abuja. Earlier testimonies: from begging for data to a business owner, growing from 1 to 10 and then 10 to 30-something. Last year profits disappeared into maintenance and depression set in. After watching a video of Pastor Jerry's wife doing street evangelism, Osas spent the last of their money printing NSPPD flyers and evangelising, asking only for God's will. Within two weeks came a divine business idea, and the fleet grew from 30-something to over 50 tricycles in under a year.
- Sister settled maritally. After several disappointments she kept on the altar, attended a crossover night (December 2023), and joined the January fast where Pastor Jerry declared marital settlement. An aunt introduced a man; they first met in November 2024, and traditional and white weddings took place together on 14 December 2024. "My odogwu international husband."
- A widow (third service, name unclear). Says Streams of Joy came to Abuja "because of me". Last year her only daughter married, and her husband died and is "in heaven". She thanks God for a "glorious and victorious" year of mourning, calls Pastor Jerry her personal pastor, counsellor and intercessor, and has given herself as "a bride for Jesus".
- A daughter (third service). Her mother, led to pray from 7 pm to 2 am, opened her eyes to a physical attacker with a calabash and knife and was cut, but lived; the attackers were caught. Days later her father foamed at the mouth and stopped responding. She prayed the morning's altar words over his picture with her children until he began saying "amen". The next night he rose at 1 am saying he was being called and walked out into the village. Her mother followed him praying in tongues until he came to himself. "Your father wanted to go, but it's too late."
- A member of Streams of Joy London (East London chapter), UK. Renewed her UK documents on 1 November. They were delayed five months while her lawyer kept writing to immigration. On "dress like your testimony" day she packed her hand luggage and walked around with it. On 28 March Pastor Jerry cancelled immigration problems, and on 31 March he said a call would come within 3 hours. Her lawyer rang: "What's that name you normally call? Elroi will answer me... Madam, book your ticket." Earlier, in August 2024, she testified at Abuja about a house. On 3-4 September the council rang offering a second, brand-new four-bedroom house with en-suites, a big garden and a penthouse garden.
Words of knowledge / healing declarations
- First service: Lazarus "not dead but sleeping", wake up (career, health, favour, glory). "In 3 days it will be restored." A garment of shame or desolation worn for 3-4 years. A name deleted on a wicked altar with an animal's blood. Powers capitalising on ignorance to make a king a slave. "Some of you within 1 hour, 24 hours or 48 hours, these empty hands will be filled."
- First service healings: "old people's diseases" in a young person; temporary right-side paralysis that keeps recurring; three lumps found in a breast in the past few days ("let the three of them disappear"); paralysis of the diaphragm (online); three siblings who lost their jobs in the same week; a pattern of "before you get there, they've given it to another"; "your first son will not die"; "you did not wait all this while to start waiting again".
- Second service: walking feels like stepping on pins; a liver transplant said to be the end ("let it be reversed"); holes in the lungs; certificates turned to tissue paper; an ordinance that you will not reap your labour; "who is hiding you in a forest?"
- Third service: something crossing the body like a snake between 1 am and 3 am, with no sleep; weakening eye muscles; a son missing for over a year to return within three days; recurring dreams of being sacrificed; travelling in dreams without arriving and exams never finished; a family history of blindness in the late 30s and 40s; family members dropped in a wilderness; the vengeance of God over the next seven days on those lifted in pride against you; "your family will not cry this week".
- Fourth service and others: "before 6 pm on Monday there will be a major sound of congratulations" (second service); "you will remember today... in three months" (third service, over new members).
Important message
- Life is gated. Systems, structures, policies, authorities and principalities are all "summed up in gates". Seasons and transitions are gated, and some things cannot come into manifestation until you receive the key that unlocks the gate. Taking over the gate means dominating territorially, not standing by a metal gate.
- Becoming gate-minded is warfare. The devil wants you to stay as small as you are. When you push beyond where you are, you need warfare done by the Lord, which is why the Captain of the Lord's host appeared.
- Enforce the presence of God. Jericho was pagan and its wall was built on sacrifices, yet the ground became holy because God was there. You carry His presence into your office and over the place that locked you out, and when God's presence enters, idols fall. The presence of God knows what to do; you do not need to point at people.
- See what God says, not the wall. "See, I have given into thine hand Jericho" came while the wall still stood. If you keep seeing the wall, bringing it down is your responsibility; if you see what God shows, removing it is His. The things not seen are eternal.
- The only sound is "the season is changing." God did not want Israel's voices, only the trumpet. Keep prophesying that the season is changing even when after the first day nothing seems to happen: "I am walking on divine calendar."
- At the gate, don't beg. Lazarus was full of sores because he was a beggar, not the other way round. Resist the devil; begging does not make a situation leave. "When you cry for the devil, he will use your tears as champagne."
- Life is not about food. Live for impact. If all you live for is provision, its absence will be the extinction of your destiny. Sometimes God saves you because of what you mean in other people's lives.
- The dogs will come, so do not be found lying down. Attacks show the capacity you carry: "the devil never attacks what doesn't threaten him." Do not wish for a life without attacks.
- Never show dogs your wounds. The right people, like the angels who carried wounded Lazarus or the good Samaritan, do not define you by your wound. If you discuss people's wounds more than their greatness, "your ministry is not too different from the devil's own." Ask whoever offers to carry you where they are taking you.
- Men at the gate are secure. "Her husband is known in the gates." Men threatened by their wives' success have not understood who they are. Don't give a woman back to her mother the way you met her.
- The gates of hell will rise but not prevail. Jesus never said they would not rise. Deal with them through revelation, through shaking wrong foundations (in families, industries and businesses), through the right key (an idea, a relationship, knowledge, even humility; do not borrow your neighbour's key) and through binding and loosing. Heaven is "shopping for mouths that can bind".
- Do not treat a former evil lightly. If it happened before, draw a bloodline and declare "it will not happen again."
- Do not sleep in your prison or lose your garment. Your garment is your identity: "your mistake is not who you are." There are seasons when your greatest submission is to follow, without demanding details.
- Occupy means filling a vacuum. Your relevance is tied to the space you fill. If things go on as well without you, you were not needed. Have a gain mindset at work, and do not wrap your gift in a napkin.
- No one takes over the gate in fear. Fear is "false evidence appearing real". Do it afraid; most of what you feared never happened.
- Communication can cost territory. The servant was judged "out of thine own mouth", and one thief mocked while the other said "remember me". Believers can be "tongue-talking but foul-mouthed". Leverage existing systems and relationships, and connect with high flyers.
- Perception drives behaviour, and humility opens seasons. Change the perception and the behaviour follows. "You are one apology away from a bigger season"; apologising when you are not wrong is a sign of growth. Do not sacrifice destiny on the altar of ego.
What he asks of us
Today / this season

- Prophesy "the season is changing" every morning in the mirror and on the drive to work.
- Speak in tongues and see with spiritual eyes. Put God's presence in your office, over your documents and your calls, before your certificate.

- Do not show "dogs" your wounds, and ask anyone who offers to carry you where they are taking you.
- Make the call or send the email you have been afraid of; "do it tomorrow", even afraid.
- Fix your communication, leverage systems and relationships, connect with high flyers, and apologise where it will keep things moving.
- Give your offering, tithe and partnership as a wave offering. If you gave your life to Christ, attend the discipleship class.
