RESURRECTION SERVICE [COMMUNION SERVICE]
RESURRECTION SERVICE [COMMUNION SERVICE] || SUNDAY SERVICE || 20TH APRIL 2025
He is not here, He is risen as He said: remember what He said, roll away the stones, tell the grave "enough", and go and shake your world, because when Jesus rose, you rose with Him.

Summary
Easter Sunday at Streams of Joy Abuja ran as four back-to-back services, each with its own praise, opening prayer, sermon, communion, offering and the same announcement block. Every opening was a resurrection prayer storm: "the grave is empty", "Oh grave, where is your sting", "I rise", "break out", "no more stones" and "enough" to the grave, with the congregation prophesying "Because he lives, I can face tomorrow" to neighbours. Prayer leaders also led the week's declarations, one for each day from Monday to Saturday, "in the order of the resurrection". The whole day turned on one line Pastor Jerry repeated: "Jesus is risen. You have also risen."
The first service (John 20:1-18) followed Mary Magdalene at the tomb. She wept because "they knew not the scripture". Between bitter tears and rejoicing lies remembering what He said. Her first report ("they have taken away my Lord") was wrong, so Jesus sent the same mouth back with the right message: resurrection is about confession. Jesus asked "Whom seekest thou?" because she was looking for the dead Jesus of yesterday and took the risen Lord for a gardener. And she stayed when Peter and John left, so he prayed that God would send everyone "people that will stay". The second service (Matthew 28:1-8) turned to the angel. His arrival caused an earthquake ("go and shake your world"). He rolled the stone away not to let Jesus out but to prove He had risen ("no more stones"). Then he sat on the stone: what the devil used to stop you becomes your seat. His countenance and white raiment left the keepers like dead men, a level of glory that comes from the secret place.
The third service (Ephesians 1:19-20, Hosea 13:14, Psalm 49:15, Proverbs 30:15-16, Isaiah 38:10, Ezekiel 37:12) dealt with graves. A person can be alive in a grave. Lazarus came out still bound and had to be loosed. The tomb Jesus lay in was borrowed, so "that cancer is not your own". The women ran with spices to make a corpse smell good, and he warned against perfuming addiction, prayerlessness or a bad report instead of breaking it. The grave is one of the things that never says "enough", so the church shouted "Enough" over premature death, buried businesses and buried dreams. The fourth service (Matthew 28:1-10) taught the resurrected life. "He is not here": the risen life does not stay in the place of decay. The women went to the wrong place because "they forgot what He said". He urged the church to build a circle where someone remembers, to leave whatever God has left (Samson), to run with the word before seeing the evidence, and to remember that "the resurrected life is not quiet".
Words of knowledge ran through every service: a sudden deafness in the right ear of six months, a four-year-old on dialysis, a liver transplant verdict reversed, a dead section of intestine, two toes decaying, two children with spine problems, a daughter silent for seven years, blocked fallopian tubes, ovarian cysts and fibroids. Testimonies included a corps member who found a job in one week after a friend got a job with her CV, a jobless manager restored, a lump that vanished after the Zambia NSPPD conference prayer, a young woman delivered from smoking and promiscuity, a federal posting to Abuja, a 1 a.m. prayer that put out a fire in a son's room, and a London mother whose son came out of a psychiatric crisis in less than a week after she tied an NSPPD hand band on his wrist.
Communion was served in every service as the flesh and blood of Jesus to flush out "whatever is not of God", followed by a wave offering. Each service ended with the welcome for first-timers and new members, Psalm 91:1-2 and the charge to go and tell others "He is risen". The last one also blessed worshippers from outside Nigeria and pointed them to the NSPPD conference in Atlanta in July.

Testimonies played / recapped
- Job in one week: after NYSC in Abuja the testifier gave a friend their CV; the friend got the job they did not. On the altar they heard "stop comparing yourself, before the end of the first quarter". March passed with nothing. Last Sunday's sermon on Peter walking on water said "it will happen this week": they applied Monday, HR called within 10 minutes, virtual interview Monday, physical test Thursday, offer that week.
- Job restored: jobless since losing their father and grandmother (caption says 2001; likely a few years ago) after the employer refused leave for the burials. A relative in London pushed them to Streams of Joy from October. A LinkedIn multinational first said they were "bigger than this job". They attended every day of the February week of mercy. In early April, after Pastor Jerry said "It is done, stop praying", the company called: the person they hired had not resumed, start Monday in Abuja.
- Lump gone, fans working: she prayed for a neighbour at the Zambia NSPPD conference prayer. The next day, as Pastor Jerry said "a lump between your breast and armpit is taking off", the bulge she had taken for an exposed bone disappeared. Her last child also gathered three fans broken and packed since 2022 and prayed; they work. Even her Muslim boss believes in NSPPD.
- Diana, delivered from addiction: six to seven years of smoking and sleeping around. A friend brought Diana to NSPPD; "let the word flow" stuck. In December Diana's body burned for days; on a Friday Diana came to sleep in church and heard "Go, even if you don't have faith". Since 9 December no urge to smoke; Diana is born again and calls Streams of Joy home.
- Lydia Okoduga: joined NSPPD online in 2020 the morning a younger brother's wife was in prolonged labour. Pastor Jerry said "that thing you are afraid of will not happen" three times; the baby came with no surgery. Lydia prayed to move from Benin to Abuja, fasted the January 2024 21 days, was recommended for a federal job, posted to Abuja despite revised lists, and recovered within three months all that was lost when robbed in a "one chance".
- Fire quenched at 1 a.m.: she lost a brother and a sister within 40 days and came seeking "fire" to be a gatekeeper. This Friday the Lord woke her at 1 a.m. to pray; the next morning they found a fan had burned in her son's room. "My five-bedroom duplex would have been on fire."
- London mother, son restored: her son Nathaniel, a trainee boxer, heard a voice in October 2022 telling him to kill her and himself; she had been warned in a dream to hide all the knives. He was sectioned and no longer knew her. She went from place to place, even to Kumasi, until a friend introduced NSPPD. She tied the NSPPD hand band on his wrist; in less than a week he called her "Mum" three times, and the consultant said he "recovered too quickly". Discharged 2 August 2023, no medication since, back at work. She flew from the UK to testify.

Important message
- The resurrection is not an event but a life. Easter is not a remembrance of something that happened only to Jesus. When He died you died, and when He rose you rose. The same Spirit quickens your mortal body, and your organs do not power your life; the life of Christ does.
- Tears come from forgetting what He said. Mary wept and the women went to the wrong place because they forgot His word. The devil's chief strategy is to make you forget "by His stripes" and "I am the righteousness of God". Remember His word and you rejoice instead of crying.
- Resurrection is about confession. Mary carried the wrong report first, and Jesus recommissioned the same mouth to carry the right one. Go back to where you spoke negatively and say what God says.
- Seek the Jesus who is, not the Jesus of yesterday. He is not the dead Jesus you can help, or the one who heals headaches but not cancer. He that comes to God must believe that He is. Come boldly before you fix yourself; His mercy does it.
- You were made to shake things. An angel, a ministering spirit lower than believers, arrived and the earth quaked. Your spirit man must do transactions with God, as Paul and Silas did at midnight, until your presence shakes your industry and your world.
- Your assignment is proof. Jesus rose in spite of the stone; the angel rolled it away to show He had risen. Believers are a generation of "proof producers". What the enemy placed as a stone becomes the seat you sit on.
- Glory comes from the secret place. Countenance like lightning goes with white raiment. There is a glory that leaves the keepers of your matter like dead men, and it is not a quick fix: spend time with Him.
- The grave is not your own. Jesus lay in a borrowed tomb, so sickness, delay and premature death are not yours to keep. You can be alive in a grave, and grave clothes still bind after a miracle. Do not let people perfume your grave with sympathy, and do not perfume another's addiction or prayerlessness.
- Tell the grave "Enough". The grave never says enough unless you say it. Premature death, buried businesses, buried ideas and evil emergencies must be stopped by a church that speaks.
- The risen life does not stay where God has left. He is not here. Leave any relationship, place or habit that no longer carries God, as Samson should have done.
- Run with the word before the evidence. The women ran with an angel's word without seeing Jesus, as the London mother acted on the Spirit's instruction about the knives and the hand band.
- Stay planted and do not pay for prayer. Anyone demanding money to put your name on a prayer list (one was asked for 2.5 million naira) is not of God and can bind you into covenants. If God planted you here, stay; do not bounce from place to place and scatter what you prayed for.
- The resurrected life is not quiet, and you need people who stay. Mary Magdalene stayed for the "stinking" Jesus when others left. Ask God for three such people, and build a circle where someone remembers what God said and says "let us pray".
