FURNACE OF ANSWERS [DAY 3]

The second day of April, day 3 of Furnace of Answers, opens in worship on Hebrews 11:6 ("we know you are a rewarder of those who diligently seek you... all power is in your hands, with you nothing is impossible") and the line that runs through the whole morning: "What you cannot do does not exist." Pastor Jerry then recounts two wonders from three weeks earlier. During the 7am prayers a word of knowledge told someone sitting beside a woman confirmed clinically dead to turn up the phone volume and place it beside her. When the prayers ended nothing happened, the daughter felt God had disappointed them, and "five minutes later" the mother came back to life. In the second, a wife whose husband had brain cancer surgery was told he would stay unconscious for six months and might never walk. She answered the doctor, "What God cannot do does not exist", called her husband's name in the ICU and he opened his eyes; when staff removed the window blinds to pass the stretcher out, he stood up on his feet. "We are in a season of a revival of the strange acts of God."

The prayer of the day is the special new month cry for mercy: "Oh Lord, show me mercy... satisfy me early with your mercy, that I may be glad all my days." He calls on Arroi (El Roi, the God who sees), the God who knows him by name, the great High Priest touched with the feeling of our infirmities, and the "God of my journey" who knows where I started, where I am and where I am going. Like Peter sinking, the people cry "Lord, help me" over sinking families, careers, homes and dreams. From James 5:11 he prays that before the day is over every listener's situation be "called the end of the Lord". He prays chapters of shame, cancer, obituary and fear closed; recalls the thief on the cross who asked only "remember me" and heard "today"; asks for a token for good (Psalm 86:17); declares "this is not how the story will end" and "the devil will not have the last word"; and from Psalm 3 asks God to lift every head bowed in shame, fear, sickness or uncertainty, with Isaiah 49:15's "I will remember you" opening divine remembrance.

Words of knowledge follow, each answered with "by the mercies of God I announce, let it be reversed": a recurring brain tumour, atrial fibrillation, retroverted uterus, three sisters with breast cancer, a family plagued by knee problems, a woman of 29 going on 30 told menopause has begun (a baby within three months), a testis declared dead, paralysis, and lives that became stuck. With requests placed beside devices, a second pastor declares mercy over the people: the mercy seat silences every accusation, Jacob crossed with a staff and returned with a multitude, and Romans 9:16, "it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy". April is announced as "30 days of mercy", sharpened at the seed of thanksgiving into "30 days of great mercy".

Three testimonies are played: a UK woman out of a seven-year abusive relationship who rebuilt her life and business and married within months of a word; Amelia Johnson in Virginia, cleared of breast cancer and lymphoma; and a US consultant gynaecologist whose sister recovered $178,000 lost to email fraud and whose two uncles were cleared of suspected prostate cancer after she insisted, "I have a word." Pastor Jerry takes that phrase as the charge of the day: when a report comes, "I have a word." He leads the salvation prayer, three communions (grace and glory, great mercy, answers), and closes with tomorrow's "fire for fire" operations, the enough-is-enough list, next week's fast and the Zambia conference in two days.

Testimonies played / recapped

• Clinically dead mother revived (recounted by Pastor Jerry, from three weeks earlier): a word of knowledge told someone beside a dead woman to raise the phone volume and place it beside her. Nothing happened when the prayer ended; five minutes later she came back to life.
• Brain cancer surgery: the doctor said the husband would be unconscious six months and might never walk, and asked the brother-in-law to warn the wife about her "behaviour". She called his name in the ICU and he responded; as staff removed the window blinds to move the stretcher out, he stood up.
• UK, woman in a seven-year abusive relationship (name uncertain, caption "oen"): began in 2016; isolated from friends and family, near suicide. In April 2023 her friend Victoria in Scotland introduced her to NSPPD. She left at 3am with hand luggage and a work laptop, pawned jewellery, took a loan and lived with a colleague's mother. November 2023 dream: Pastor Jerry said "there she is... I have someone in mind for you." Registered a skincare company; on 4 December received the word "you have been relying on men for what only God could do". Started production in her kitchen, launched on 29 January 2024. 1 March word of "strange marital favour between March and April"; on 23 March a man messaged her; on 6 April he drove an hour to surprise her at the market; on 14 April (Sunday service) the word "by your next birthday you will be in your evidence". He proposed within two weeks; married nine months later in January 2025 and celebrated in Nigeria. Debt free by September 2024. Message to women in toxic relationships: you can start over.
• Amelia Johnson, Virginia, USA: a routine mammogram in October 2024 was unclear twice; ultrasound showed scattered lymph nodes and one on the neck; the oncologist suspected cancer and ordered a PET scan. She received the word "lymphoma cancer, be reversed". The neck biopsy on 28 February came back with no cancer, and the left breast biopsy found nothing either. Healed of breast cancer and lymphoma.
• Consultant gynaecologist from the United States (name unclear), healed of metastatic breast cancer on this altar three years ago:
  • Her sister, in oil business supplies, raised funds for a purchase order over two months while fraudsters hijacked the email thread by changing one letter in both sides' addresses. $178,000 (bank loan plus her own equity) was paid to the fraudsters; her bank said it was too late. JP Morgan Chase could not reconcile the account name and number, held the money, and reversed it, about three to four weeks ago.
  • In February 2024 two uncles went into acute urinary retention at the same time; their father (her grandfather) had died of prostate cancer complications. PSA 26.4 and 18.6 (normal 0-4), prostates enlarged and irregular; the first rose to 35 and was booked for a prostatectomy and bilateral orchidectomy on 4 March. Theatre renovation pushed the date. On 4 March the word came: "two brothers struck with prostate cancer, reversed." She insisted on a biopsy over the surgeon's objection ("I have a word"); it came back benign. The second uncle, unable to walk, talk or control his bowels, was moved to a teaching hospital; his biopsy also showed no cancer, and she had the catheter removed for a voiding trial. A year on, both are well with no surgery.
  • She likened Pastor Jerry to an eagle that does not fight the crow and raven on its back but soars until they fall off.

1. What God cannot do does not exist. The dead mother and the husband who stood up are signs of "a revival of the strange acts of God"; people will no longer ask "where is your God?"
2. Faith is now. "Now faith is" means it is not tomorrow; God moves while he is yet speaking, and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
3. Only mercy endures. Some trust in chariots, but what strength could not deliver, mercy delivers. It is not of him that wills or runs, or of him with connections, "it is of God that showeth mercy."
4. Mercy has gone ahead: where your document is, where your name is mentioned, in that office. Mercy silences every accusation from the mercy seat, and there is no condemnation.
5. You may have arrived in April with only a staff, like Jacob, but you will leave with a multitude of evidence. "This is not how the story will end"; the devil will not have the last word, and the journey will not end in the middle.
6. "I have a word." When a report comes, the word is your answer: heaven and earth will pass away but not the word, and what the devil meant for evil the Lord turns for good. That is why those who have touched God at NSPPD speak up.
7. To singles: anyone who comes into your life and makes you lose your community, your family and your loved ones, so that only they matter, is the wrong person. "How I know you love me is that you love the people I love."
8. April is 30 days of great mercy: "you shall wake up to mercy, move in mercy, sleep in mercy; your atmosphere is called mercy."
